t’s been an exciting month for the FOCUS team. Our lovely Becca married her life partner in a beautiful ceremony at Cedar Bar and Kitchen in Bellingen. We were very honoured to be part of their special day. Congrats, Bec and Tara; enjoy your honeymoon in Hawaii. Have a cocktail or two for us! This month we are showcasing the Wonder of Woolgoolga and Northern Beaches. The region is buzzing with a huge variety of beaches, great eateries, retail outlets and local boutique businesses. Make sure you turn to page 40 to read about what’s on offer up north. On the Cover Lisa Nichols is a Woolgoolga local who is one of the driving forces behind “Woopi Wears Yellow”, which is an R U OK? promotion personalised for Woolgoolga and
aimed at raising awareness around mental health and suicide. Lisa cares deeply about this cause and her local community, and her dedication to raising awareness and helping others is quite remarkable. Thanks so much to Daisy Moroney for dolling up our beautiful Lisa. Hair and makeup up is on point. Inside this edition Bob Weeks is a legendary surf photographer who moved from Sydney to Woolgoolga in the early ‘70s. His interest in photography was sparked as a young boy, then he took up surfing at Cronulla in his late teens and he combined his passions and started taking photos of local surfers enjoying the beachside lifestyle. He went on to work for many iconic surfing magazines, and his images have captured the evolution of surf culture over the years.
Element Bar owner, Darrin Northey, has recently taken over the cracking little laneway space that is Dark Arts Brew & Bar in Cox Lane. He has spent the past couple of months doing a bit of a refurb and a big freshen up, to hopefully create another awesome spot in Coffs that folks can escape to.
