Pretoria, Cape Town, Johannesburg (South Africa) March 11-22, 2013-Twelve missionaries, under the leadership of Pastor Clifford A. Jones, Sr., took blankets for cots, eating utensils, pillowcase dresses, toys, learning aids and books for the Tumealong Daycare, our International Children’s Outreach Ministry (I.C.O.M., a 501 (c)(3)) ambassadors, the Botse Botse High School and drop off items from the U.S. parents of 10 of our former I.C.O.M. ambassadors. There was a visit to the farm in Thato; a small rural community with unemployment 50% plus. Friendship Missionary Baptist Church has supported this farm with the purchase of a tractor to till the ground for crops. There was cabbage, bell peppers, tomatoes, and green beans; a brickmaking machine to sell bricks to area businesses and sewing machines to enable workers to bid for contracts to produce uniforms for school age children and others in the Winterveldt community. Our goal is to help develop an economic empowerment model for its citizens and connect with local churches in the U.S. and with other religious national organizations.
