Mantanani Islands The Mantanani Islands form a small group of 3 islands at the west coast of Sabah, namely Mantanani Besar Island (Big Mantanani), Mantanani Kecil Island (Small Mantanani) and Lingisan Island. It is a popular site for water sports such as scuba diving, snorkelling, jet skiing, etc. Even a walk on the white sandy beach of the islands gives guests a sense of serenity.

Kota Belud Kota Belud lies about 70 kilometers, or an hour’s drive away from Kota Kinabalu. Well-known for its ‘Land of the Cowboys of the East’ soubriquet, it is also the gateway to the beautiful Mantanani Islands. For many centuries, Kota Belud has played an imperative role as the cultural hub of Northern Borneo. It is mostly known for its vivacious tamu (open market) and unique handicrafts.

Rampayan Laut Jetty Take an hour and half car ride to the jetty of Rampayan, Kota Belud from Kota Kinabalu, and take a boat to Mantanani Island. The boat ride takes approximately 45 minutes depending on the sea conditions. If the weather is not ideal for the boat ride (e.g. rough seas, strong wind, heavy rain, etc.), the trip might be cancelled.

Marine Life The islands boast crystal clear blue waters filled with a myriad of marine life and white sandy beaches fringed by coconut palm trees, making it an excellent destination for snorkelling, scuba diving or island hopping. The islands promise the most diverse marine life with visibility up to 40 meters. Many species of rays flutter around like blue spotted ray and marbled sting ray amongst large schools of fish.
