PHOTOGRAPHY MY TAM NGUYEN

The photos in this issue represent one of the most challenging periods of My Tam’s life, when she was alone in a foreign country and didn’t know the language or the culture. Through food, My Tam was able to peel away the layers of disconnection and isolation and begin to reconnect with self, place, and humanity. Food is My Tam’s safe place and a part of her earliest memories. She sees her life as a series of really good meals with people she loves and connects with. Her photos show comfort, family, and connection, the haven that is her home kitchen, and the beauty of quality ingredients that bridge and bind.
