T
he International Federation of Fly Fishers has been engaged in the battle to protect the world’s most productive wild salmon fishery and sport fishing destination of global renown in Bristol Bay, Alaska, for many years. The IFFF, councils, clubs and individual members have weighed in with federal decision-makers about the threats Bristol Bay faces from proposed large-scale mining development. Many an IFFF member has visited this fabled region and enjoyed some of his or her finest days on the water hooked up with a mighty salmon, an elegant grayling, or some of the biggest wild rainbows and char swimming anywhere in the world.
