Rapper Radric Davis aka Gucci Mane returned to jail on November 11th, leaving anticipations high for his new album set to drop December 8th, "The State vs. Radric Davis". Known as a controversial rapper Gucci Mane cleared the airways on his new single "My Own Worst Enemy" where Gucci talks about his journey through the hip hop industry which appears to be targeted at fellow rappers T.I. and primarily Young Jeezy. Rappers, Jeezy and Gucci have had past run-ins including in 2005 when the single "So Icey" broke and a group of men attempted to rob Gucci Mane and one man ended up dead supposedly affiliated with Jeezy. Gucci Mane ended up getting proven innocent proving self-defense. After landing #6 on MTV's 2009 "Hottest MC's In The Game" one spot above rapper Young Jeezy, Gucci has made an obvious attempt to reach out to Jeezy on his new single where he states, "Me, Jeezy, and T.I. share one thing in common/ Role models to young people, though at times man we still ignore it/ and ya'll gonna owe respect to me and I don't like apologies/ Just diss me till you satisfied/ I swear it doesn't bother me... Insults only show the world how ya'll respecting me." On a recent interview Gucci did with Miss Info just before he went to jail recently, Gucci talks on a higher level about how he interprets his new album, his current standing with Jeezy, and how he is looking to the future. I think this is an opportunity for a few good rap albums to drop in the absence of T.I., Gucci Mane and Lil Wayne while they are away for a little while. I am looking forward to buying Gucci's "The State vs. Radric Davis" on December 8th and Young Jeezy's release of "Thug Motivation: 103" To Be Announced. You can view the interview and hear new singles "My Own Worst Enemy" and "Spotlight" Ft. Usher on www.guccimaneonline.com. -Jarvis Grace

" I don't wish no death on homie/ Just want him to hear me out/ Think about the past and all the many things we talked about/ Think about all the people influenced by what comes out our mouth. - Gucci Mane "My Own Worst Enemy"

FLYERPROMONOW presents to look at all the time. Not to mention the music is always on point!

T

he holidays are approaching! If you thought I like to party before, wait to you see me for the holidays! It’s really my favorite time of the year. Venues & promoters collectively create signature themed nights during the holidays, and I always enjoy the marketing pieces for these events. Along with the holiday season comes that cold weather. With us being Floridians, we don’t really handle that weather too well. This is the time promoters start to see a slump in their party attendees because nobody wants to get dressed up for the club when its cold outside. So, this week, I am dedicating this issue to those who rather do more low key things during those chilly nights. You don’t have to sacrifice a night out on the town with a night at the movies. If you still want to “party”, here’s where you should go.

Tessa Wine & Cigar Bar By now, it seems like everyone has a party out there during the week. But the fact of the matter is that this venue is a nice hang out spot. It’s real chill and low key. Small, yet comfortable. There a couple of overstuffed leather couches that you can relax on while jamming to some really great music. I’ve yet to go in there and not enjoyed the DJ. They have great bottle pricing as well. Most nights they push $100 bottle promotions. They also offer a small menu, and have a plethora of shi-shi flavors for your Hookah pleasure. The Velvet Lounge @ The Hard Rock Hotel I absolutely LOVE this place! It is located in the lobby of the Hard Rock Hotel by Universal Studios. This lounge is spaciously situated, with grouped couches & tables & chairs. The décor at this venue is filled with vibrant bright colors, with music memorabilia placed everywhere. The best thing about this place is its drinks! I swear for these bartenders, it’s protocol for them to serve doubles as singles! There is also an appetizer menu that is offered real late night. The patio seating stretches before the huge pool deck located behind the hotel. Be sure to get your valet validated…it’s free! Cleos Yes, the strip club. Now, I know this may not be the most “desirable” venue to hang out, but on a cold wintery night, it’s just what you may be looking for. It really doesn’t get any lower key than this place, but at the same time, it’s so chill! The drinks are strong, and you have something

Get Together No, this isn’t a real venue. It’s a reminder that you don’t need to necessary go out to have a great time. You can always call a couple of your friends and have a get together. Break out the iPod & have everyone bring a bottle. Be sure to invite those you don’t mind being around your house, and be sure to alternate locations each time. It’s only fair when it comes to the clean up. We have to remember, all you need to have a “party” is a place, music, drinks, and a few people. What better way, or cheaper way, to do so on a cold night where you already don’t feel like getting dressed up? Just think about it…no cover, no dress code, no over-crowding. Don’t get me wrong…Starlet still likes the streets no matter what the temperature is. You’ll be sure to see me out, looking for the coat check! LOL. However, I know there are some nights where it’s just too cold to get dressed, but I don’t want to stay home. I’ve listed a couple of places I like to attend. Tell me about some of your favorite low key places you like to hang out. Maybe you own a venue you want to let us know about. Email me at starletinthestreets.com. Till then… LET’S CELEBRATE!

STARLET MAIL Starlet, I had the pleasure to read your article in the Oct 25th, www.FLYERPROMONOW.com. I am emailing you because of what you said, if anyone had flyers, posters, or just wanted to say hello. I just moved to the Orlando area so I'm doing a lot of investigating. I am assisting in coordinating an intermission runway/hair show. I'm seeking clothing designers and photographers; point me in the right direction. Tell me what you think about Orlando's designers. Who is worth speaking too? Miss Isa Online Purpose- Integrity-One Love Miss Isa, Thank you for emailing, and welcome to Orlando! This city is full of amazing talent, especially in the fashion industry. I have come across a young lady by the name of Toni Blair that appears to be saturated in the fashion industry here in Orlando. She has a fashion oriented company called Ladies 1st Inc., and you can find her on Facebook & Twitter. I am sure she can direct you to exactly what you need. Hope this helps, & be sure to keep me posted on your upcoming events! www.flyerpromonow.com

Flyer Promo N ow & Talkof Orlando .com presents this week’s Talk of Orlando,

J Swift.

an iconic radio personality on the hottest

Orlando, Power 95.3 FM. With his positive and outgoing personality he's definitely on the rise to becoming the next big thing in the Orlando radio circuit. He keeps listeners in touch with radio station in

community news and events and fills his

Hip Hop and R&B The positive energy and swagger

show with the best in hits.

he brings to his radio show captures the essence of what a real radio host should

- exciting, entertaining and in sync with their listeners. You can sample his talent every Saturday from 6am to 10am and Sunday morning from 6am to 9am, but here's a snapshot of the man behind the microphone. be

Of all the career paths you could have chosen, why did you choose radio? Did you have a back up just in case radio didn’t work out? I've always had a passion for radio since a youngin growing up in NY listening to Hot 97! That's what inspired me to get into radio. I didn’t have a back up because once I set my mind on something, I do not look back. It's go hard or go home, and I wasn’t about to go home. If you could interview anyone in the world, who would it be and why? It would have to be Mary J. Blige. She came from the bottom and rose to the top. Not to mention we lived in the same building, same floor, and right across from each other in Slow Bombs Yonkers (NY). That's before she made it big of course. Growing up was there anyone who inspired you to be a Radio Broadcaster? I'd have to say listening to Ed Lover and Dr. Dre on Hot 97. The format was sick. They had exclusive interviews and crazy pranks that kept me tuned in. I knew I wanted to be apart of that environment one day. Besides being a radio broadcaster on Power 95.3, what other projects are you working on right now? Right now I’m working with the Gem Cutterz production crew. We got a team of producers, writers and engineers. Anyone looking for beats, you can always get in contact with me by email at Jswift@ power953.com. What is your opinion on the direction of Hip Hop and the music industry? The music industry is just crazy! An artist can be hot one day and flop the next. Hip Hop is mad commercial right now. You have a lot of young cats breaking through, which is cool. I personally prefer that hard, street Hip Hop but it's all good cause I still get my dance on in the club when those records come on. (Laughing) For those who are looking to get in the radio industry, What words of wisdom and guidance could you give them to pursue their dreams?

My advice would be to go to school and get that education. Then get an internship in radio, no matter which station you get into, and work your way up. Its not going to happen overnight and the process can be long and overwhelming, but with anything you want in life its going to be a process so you have to be patient. Radio plays a big role in people’s lives. How do you feel you can bring a change through the music that people hear you spin? Yes radio does play a big role in people’s lives. I just bring myself to the show every weekend and love giving what the listeners want, more music. Music feeds the soul and is something that can get you through different situations that life brings. There are a lot of well known radio personalities on your radio station. What separates you from them? Man, I have an amazing team over at Power. We got the strongest team in Florida! What separates me is my outgoing personality and how I keep it real, even after my show is done. I give the listeners something to keep coming back for. What is the process of getting an up and coming local artists music to rotate on a regular basis? First they have to be poppin’ off in the local area, doing shows and heavy on those mixtapes. Their music has to be on point and saturating the clubs. Their music also needs to be requested on the radio and maybe, just maybe, they can get a spin on the radio. Lastly, are there any special shout outs you’d like to give at this time? First and foremost, I want to thank God for making everything possible. Shout outs to my Gem Cutterz Fam, Unique Dollarz, C Notes, the whole Power 95.3 Fam, the whole TalkofOrlando.com crew, Flyer Promo and last but not least, all my listeners out there. Thank you!

ver seen an image that kept your attention & took your mentality to a whole different level? Where you find yourself truly studying it, and looking for its deeper meaning? Images of floating objects and people levitating. Real deep & creative photography & graphic design. Then realize that you are actually just looking at a club flyer? You quickly search its’ parameters for the designer’s name, and you discover “Beyond Human”. Some of us immediately think, “Of course!” while others are left in amazement, wondering who is “Beyond Human”? “Beyond Human” is beyond photography, beyond graphic design. Beyond Human is Dwayne Moore. - Words by Brandi Nikole

How did you become fascinated with photography and how did you get started? I’ve been a graphic designer for years working with major labels, independent labels, magazines, and touching up photos for photographers worldwide. I have a team of designers under the “Beyond Human.” I was widely known for photo retouching and digital art. Then

28

a few Ad agencies contracted me as “art director” on various projects. So I would sit with photographers and help conduct their photo shoots. I would have the eye in the beginning of the shoot, and on occasions the photographer just wouldn’t deliver. So from working with these different companies, I began to develop the urge to get behind the camera. Then two years ago, I bought my first

camera. I already knew I had the eye, I just needed to learn the technique. So, I started consulting with other photographers like Chris McEniry, reading books and practicing everyday. Business came in pretty quickly because of my marketing background; I know how to market myself. Because of that, I continued with the same companies I had connections with, from VH1 to MTV, Mitsubishi, Universal, and a dozen music labels. I already dealt with those entities on the graphic design end, so I had direct connects as a photographer.

Define and describe your unique style and its origin. The majority of my work comes from my imagination. I have a great imagination. I am a vivid dreamer and I’m passionate about emotions. Art should bring peoples emotions to that clearer (idea) of who they are and then I realized one image could capture that. For me, it all began when I started taking pictures and I noticed that one image felt like an entire movie. My art is “timeless,” you are entering my dreamscape. It’s almost like fantasies, without being sexual. My art is more of the unknown. It has a sense of spirituality intertwined within it. Every art piece of mine has a deeper meaning than what you are just seeing at first sight.

Some of your art reminds me of some works created by Salvador Dali, the surrealist painter. Yea, I mean, I am trying to spark an interest in art again for people. Every era had those artists that were into the politics, into the religion. Today, we don’t have too many of them. They are floating around; they just don’t know how to market themselves. Right now I am using this platform, to touch individuals and causing them to think more than where they are at. To view the world with new vision.

You mentioned you were a vivid dreamer and that’s where you get your ideas and themes. How do you go about taking that dream and making it into art? I sleep, I dream, I wake up and write my dreams down almost every single morning. I have a log that I started in the beginning of the summer of 09. The people around me use to call me weird because I would have dreams that would actually take place. Like I mentioned, I have an extremely spiritual background. This became a way for me to release what I am seeing. People would start to see models and entertainers levitating in the air or would have balls of light surrounding them and not understand the deeper meaning behind it. It’s almost like elevating yourself to a higher conscience. A lot of my dreams are surrounded around that. Christianities might call this rapture, or God bringing them home. Other religions my view this as transforming your whole mind, soul, and consciousness to another state of being. The philosophy that

is behind me comes out in my art. You can take something from it for yourself. After looking at it for like 5 minutes, most people just get it.

What are some of projects that you have going on? Presently, I am working with a few music labels, fashion magazines and fashion designers for 2010. You’re going to start seeing my signature style with what I call “mixed media”, which is combining photography and digital design. You’ll see that look in a few campaigns coming up. I signed up to do a few of the reality shows from VH1 and MTV from shows being taped here, California, and New York. You are going to see some of those faces in the portfolio. If you go to www.vh1.com or www.mtv.com, you’ll see some of my work. Even the winners from the reality shows that haven’t even aired yet, I have already shot with them and already worked on those campaigns. Of course, they haven’t been released yet. That in itself has been a blessing; still being able to work with the networks. Because not only am I shooting with them, they are actually coming to the studio and shooting me while I do my work.

What is your favorite part of what you do? I love photography. It’s like a new love for me, remember I have only been doing this for two years. Art drives me. Right now and for the past couple of years, I look at the world different; I look at grass different. I look at fibers and colors…something as simple as a tree in a window becomes art to me. When I capture a millisecond of a moment I just hope people can see what I saw. Art right now drives me insane, but at the same time I think it’s a positive thing. It allows me to touch everyone without necessarily speaking to anyone.

What is your ultimate goal with this magnificent talent? Ultimately, people need to start appreciating art again. I’m amongst modern day “Renaissance Men”. And I’m at that level where art isn’t just an album cover or a magazine cover, with half naked girls, you know what I mean. To me, that’s not the direction we need to be going in as artist. We need to get back to where art actually moved people as far as when it came to politics, religion, or beliefs. In the past it was all based off of the visuals of art. I think we lost that. I will bring us back to that point.

iddy seen here with his son, celebrated his 40th Birthday in NYC, with a host of celebrity guests. His baby mama, Kim Porter and jump-off, Cassie, were both in attendance; luckily without incident. Oprah confirmed that she will be ending her nationally syndicated show in 2011 to focus on the launch of her network The Oprah Winfrey Network. Wishing her the best! Even though he's a dynamic talent, I'm placing actor Katt Williams in my 'what the hell were you thinking?!?' category. Williams was charged with burglary of a Georgia home, which happened to also be a friend of Williams. His lawyer said, "We absolutely deny" any involvement although police reports state $3,500 of jewelry and collectible coins gone missing.

A weekly Entertainment, Legal News & Advice column from Shannon A. Ligon, The Entertainment & Legal Diva And on to some much needed advice... Dear Shannon, I am a Freshman in college and am thinking about trying to get into modeling, but want to do things the right way. Do you have any advice on how I can protect my image? -Model in Training Dear Model: I'm glad to see you taking on your career in a positive start. Try getting some professional shots done and buy the rights to the images for a composite card. Then arrange for castings with mid level to major agencies to book local gigs while building up your resume. Be sure to research everyone you do business with; there are many photographers and agents that take advantage of beginners. Make sure to network with other industry professionals so you can get the inside scoop on whom to trust within the industry. Best of luck. Sincerely, Shannon Taxes, after all, are dues that we pay for the privileges of membership in an organized society. - Franklin D. Roosevelt

I'm not making any assumptions, but this story coupled with the mushot has me questioning some things. Like was he high?!? And DMX is the latest entertainer to fall victim to brokeassness as he was slapped with a $1.5 million tax bill. Ouch! The rapper has tax liens in states across the country, ranging from New York to Arizona. Guess this dog has seen better days.

a new Head Coach. Two teams that ime flies when you’re having fun, right? So definitely don’t suck are the Saints time must really be dragging for the New and the Colts, both are still undeJersey Nets, they can’t possibly be having fun. feated. The Saints play the Patriots The Nets are 0-14 as of press time. What’ fun about in this upcoming MNF game. I don’t losing? Seriously I would be embarrassed if I was care if the Saints are undefeated or them. I don’t know if it’s bad coaching, bad playing, or not I’m going with the Patriots on a combination of both but they need to get it together. this one. Patriots’ defense is better I feel bad for Rafer Alston who went from the Eastern Tom Brady than the Saints’. I predict the Patriots capitalizing off Conference Champs, the Magic, to the Nets. Now, of Saints turnovers. Another preJameer Nelson ha s a torn meniscus and is out until diction I have is Tim Tebow and the end of December, and Alston is Jersey. Can’t say I’m the Gators over the Seminoles in surprised though because the magic have a history golden boy’s last regular season of trading players a little too soon. The Timberwolves college game. Tebow recently tied need to step their game up as well with a record of Kevin Faulk as the Southeastern 1-13. At least they won a game though. The Magic, Conference all-time leader in Hawks, Lakers, and the Suns have the best records Drew Brees touchdowns with 53. with 11-3 as of press time. Following 30 Second Timeout close behind them This timeout is for the United Football League is Cleveland, Boston, (UFL). This isn’t new news but it’s been bothering Denver and Dallas me so I have to comment. What the hell is a Tusker? all of who are 10-4. I Well it’s the name that the UFL has registered as the plan on paying close Franchise name for the Orlando team. WACK is what attention to the Dallas it is!! The only good part for the city of Orlando is we Mavericks this seaMark Cuban didn’t get stuck with the worst name. Tusker son, mainly to is definitely better than the Rockfish or the watch the antics of team owner, Mark Cuban. Locomotives. I mean seriously there are He never disappoints me or lets me down. I women’s roller derby teams with harder can always count on Cuban to do something names. Shame on the UFL. All I’m going that makes the news and makes me laugh. to say is Where they do that at? Mark Cuban takes his job seriously and he should, he has invested millions of dollars in the In the Huddle Mavericks. How many other owners sit behind the Larry Johnson was let go by the Chiefs for using bench and talk shit to any and everyone? Other playgay slurs and talking reckless about his coach. ers, refs, coaches, player’s wives and mothers; no one Allen Iverson was dismissed from the Grizzlies and is exempt from the wrath of Mark Cuban and as a shit is now a free agent. If this doesn’t scream time for talker myself I love it. retirement I don’t know what does. No offense A. I. Bud Adams, the Tennessee Titans owner, must be but it’s time. You kind of should have known when a fan of Mark Cuban too. Adams was fined $250,000 you went to the Grizzlies, I mean can anyone name for flipping fans the bird after the Titans beat the Bills 3 people from the team. Sadly, Kareem Abdul-Jabar, 41-17. That loss along with the fact that the Bills kind the NBA all-time leading scorer, has been undergoof suck this season is the reason they are looking for ing treatment for Leukemia.
