We’re not sure of their name, but a fabulous rock band entertained guests throughout evening as the poker cards were played out, with the top three poker hands receiving cash and prizes at well over $ 5,000. Congratulations to Matt & Gail Rohl from Chicago, who rode aboard Team Beer Money and had lady luck on their side, taking home half the pot, a $ 2,500 cash prize! Unfortunately we were unable to stick around for coverage of the APBA Sanctioned OSS races on Sunday, which also included the P1 Superstock Series race staged by Martin Sanborn and his associates, but Ellen Greenleaf reported that it was a fabulous day of racing and a great season opener. We’d like to thank Smokin the Sound promoters Woody Bailey, Rusty David and FPC member Paul Bertucci for inviting Florida Powerboat Club to join in and be a part of this fabulous powerboating weekend on Mississippi’s Gulf Coast. If you missed it this year, you have to mark it on your calendar for 2013…this is the ultimate playground both on water and off!!
The DOCK Restaurant at Gulfport Lake was the ideal end-point of the run. Plenty of dockage, great food and live music made for a perfect happy hour party!
