including Tampa Bay Downs, Aqueduct, Monmouth Park, Delaware Park and Woodbine. In 2015, Schickendanz posted $539,651 in Florida-bred earnings. Schickendanz, who is the CEO of Ontario-based B.G.S. Homes Inc., bought a filly for $3,633 at the 1991 Canadian Breeders Sales Company's October yearling sale. Named Sermon Time, the filly won two stakes in 1992 and was a finalist for that year's Canadian champion 2-year-old filly honor. As a broodmare, Sermon Time produced Wake At Noon. A Schickendanz homebred, Wake At Noon became a millionaire, multiple-graded stakes winner. In 2002, Wake At Noon won a trio of Sovereign Awards as champion sprinter, champion older horse and Horse of the Year. In addition to Wake At Noon, Schickendanz also raced Scotzanna, the 1995 Canadian champion 3-yearold filly. In partnership with John Hillier, he also raced
Established in 2012, Giuseppe Iadisernia's Northwest Stud is located on 120 acres in the 450-acre Nelson Jones Training Center. In 2015, Northwest Stud recorded Florida-bred earnings of $923,393 and was represented by Florida-bred stakes winner Golden Pirate. A 2013 colt by Flashstorm out of the Rizzi mare Cozzy Cate, Golden Pirate won the Armed Forces Stakes at Gulfstream Park. Raced by Golden Legacy Stable LLC, Golden Pirate earned $104,915. A full-service operation, Northwest Stud breeds to sell and race while also standing stallions. The 2016 stallion roster included Duke of Mischief, Flashstorm, Gone Astray. Turbo Compressor, United States and Wrote (Ire). At the 2014 Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's March juvenile sale, Northwest Stud sold the co-high priced horse of the sale. The colt by Giant's Causeway out of Rebridled Dreams, by Undbridled's Song, sold for $1.6 million to Barbara Banke's Ocala-based Stonestreet Stables. Northwest Stud had paid $550,000 for the colt at the 2013 Keeneland September yearling sale. Named Carpe Diem, the colt became a multiple graded stakeswinning millionaire raced by WinStar Farm LLC and Stonestreet Stables LLC. ■
