Ever since you were a little girl, you have dreamed about your perfect wedding. Maybe it was a little white chapel or maybe it was the beach, but you wanted the location to be perfect. Some people plan their entire day around that perfect place, while others start with a blank canvas. Either way, choosing your venue is one of the most important decisions you’ll make while planning your wedding. When deciding on your venue, you need to take into consideration that you might need two locations: one for the ceremony and one for the reception. Sometimes a church is the most popular place for the ceremony. Therefore, this leads you to an important decision: does the church have a facility large enough for the reception, and do they have any restrictions that will prohibit your specific plans on your perfect day? Issues like hours of use, alcohol, and schedule of church functions may vary from venue to venue. If restrictions or scheduling conflicts are present, then you will need to find a separate location for the reception. If you want a civil wedding service, the ceremony and reception can take place at one location. When considering a location, you will need to take into account several issues:

Everyone has one! You need to consider how much you are willing to spend on the location. This is a huge portion of the day and it needs to be perfect! If they are coming from out of town, how far is the drive or the location that they will be lodging? This will determine if there is space to accommodate the number of guests you want. If the venue is outside, what is the backup plan for inclement weather? Do you want a seated meal or a stand up passed? A seated meal or hors d'oeuvres will obviously take up more space than the passed service. Therefore, the time of day will determine the best food service that will accommodate your guests. Do you want live music or a Disc Jockey? A band will take up more space, so in a tight space a DJ will let you be more efficient with your area. Also check out the sound ordinances. Time constraints will also help you determine the type of entertainment that you may want to use.
