BEES - essential for our ecosystem The western or European honey bee belongs to the family of real bees and is responsible for an ecologically balanced biodiversity as well as for high-yielding harvests. A great burden for the hard-working and endangered bees that pollinate 80% of our wild and useful plants. Only 20% of the remaining pollination work is done by butterflies, bumblebees and other insects.What is often forgotten is that Bees are our third most important livestock after pigs and cattle. When they eat nectar and pollen, they carry pollen from flower to flower and thus ensure the reproduction of numerous flowering and useful plants .Bee pollination not only safeguards a wide variety of foods. In fruit growing, bee pollination can even increase the yield many times over!Above all, it is native wild and useful plants that serve our bees as the most important sources of foodCultivated flowers, as beautiful as they sometimes bloom, are of little importance to bees, as they provide little or no nectar or pollen. Due to widespread monocultures in agriculture and forestry, the use of chemical pesticides and pesticides, as well as sterile gardens and parks, it is becoming increasingly difficult for our bees to survive.
