Sam passed away from cancer in 2006, during what should have been his senior year at the University of Virginia. At Flint Hill, Sam was a strong leader, never to waste words; sharp, witty, and always with a valuable contribution. He also loved his teachers, and, in consultation with his father, David, we knew it would be meaningful to contribute to the Annual Fund in Sam’s name. Sam loved learning and exploring, and we hope that a gift to the stewards of that process will help to ensure that many others with Sam’s brightness are being led by some of the best."
