EXAMPLE: SPECIALIZATION Computer Animation and Game Development Learn techniques used at major game and animation studios using the software that pros use. Create a 3D game or animation from concept to completion. Whether it’s implementing visually rich environments into a video game, compositing giant metal robots into a television commercial, or incorporating live action footage with dynamic creatures in a movie, artists are using computer graphics in nearly every aspect of the entertainment industry. Students choose their specialization in animation, modeling, visual effects, or video games as they work together in a simulated production company. Using the latest and most popular game technology, students will develop a fully playable demo. All of which is geared toward developing a strong portfolio, essential to obtaining employment after course completion.

ONLINE!

You can access two distinct web-based learning systems: OntarioLearn – access the combined full-length courses of 22 Ontario Colleges to study 24/7 along a structured guideline under the supervision of college faculty. These accredited courses can lead to College certification. Online Expert – choose this self-paced knowledge-on-demand system for a less structured video-based course of shorter duration.

OntarioLearn is a consortium of 22 Ontario colleges making available hundreds of courses in all subject areas. Fully accredited and instructorled, choose these if you prefer a structured environment or are pursuing certification. For less structured, knowledge-on-demand courses, please see our Online Expert series.

Learn through online video lectures. If you prefer to work entirely on your own to gain the knowledge that you need when you need it, choose this style of online learning. CD-ROMs are available for dial-up internet service. For a more structured environment and credit courses, please see the OntarioLearn series.

How does it work? – Register for these courses as you would for any other part-time course. – You will receive an email from us with your login and other information. You will not be able to log into your course until the start date. – You may need to purchase books, which are not included in the cost of the course. – You will work at your own pace off-campus within a timeline of due dates for your course (assignments and tests) with the guidance of college faculty. – You may be required to write a final exam at one of our locations.

All courses include expert content, interactive labs and pre- and postcourse testing. Online resources are fresh, accurate and timely. Multiple delivery systems provide content anytime and anywhere even if you have a slow internet connection. How does it work? – Register for these courses as you would for any of our part-time courses. You can start any time. – We will send you an email with login and other information. – Textbooks are not required.

– Upon completion of your course, a printed transcript of your final grade will be mailed to you.

– You will have access to your course for a maximum of six months to complete the course material and requirements.

Registration Deadline

– The online courses are self-paced, so it is recommended that you develop a regular study plan to ensure successful completion within the allotted time.

– Each online session hour equals about 5 – 6 in-class hours. So an online course of 3 hours is approximately equivalent to about 15 hours of in-class time.

All OntarioLearn courses start on these dates. Some courses have new start-ups every month, usually on the first. Class sizes are limited and course availability is subject to change.

In order to take any online course, you must have fundamental computer and Internet skills. A high-speed Internet connection is recommended. If you are taking a computer course you should have the appropriate software on your machine.

Independent Wine Education Guild The Independent Wine Education Guild offers five levels of study. All levels are prepared and graded by the WSET in England, recognized worldwide as the pre-eminent wine and spirit educational institute. Upon successful completion of courses and examinations, students receive the internationally respected professional Certificate or Diploma from the WSET.

Microsoft Office 2007 Updates Have you upgraded to Microsoft Office 2007 or are you thinking of making the change soon? These workshops are for experienced users who need to get used to the new 2007 interface and learn how to get the most out of this upgrade.
