the country. This was FLC’s first time at the national competition and they secured the invitation after winning the Rocky Mountain Regional Ethics Bowl. FLC was highly competitive and finished the day 2-1, defeating teams from the University of Northern Georgia and the University of Alaska-Anchorage while falling to the University of Oklahoma in a tight match. Students from all majors are invited to share their interest in joining the team for next year by contacting the Leadership Center. Congratulations to the team on their success! National Collegiate Leadership Conference The National Collegiate Leadership Conference (NCLC) is held at the University of Arizona annually and this year Fort Lewis College sent eight student representatives. This event is a student-run conference that hosts over 600 participants from over 20 states. NCLC is rooted in the idea that leadership, service, and social justice are all connected. Participants engaged in workshops on body language, networking, negotiation, emotional intelligence, feminism, and so many more. Here is what some FLC students who attended had to say:

“I would say one of the main things I took away was the idea of understanding yourself in order to successfully lead.” -Samantha Garcia “The biggest takeaway from the sessions was how much impact small details can have on my success and how valuable my time is. “ -Nino Kvaraia

Fort Lewis College students Jill Panawa and Cory Patterson presented a program called “LoveQuest” at NCLC. Their session focused on how individuals can use their Top 5 Strengths from Clifton StrengthsFinder to better understand relationships. They added a fun twist to it by incorporating Disney characters. Dr. Terry R. Bacon Leadership Center
