With many years of hard work and dedication, Academy of Arts has earned an incredible reputation. What makes academy of arts so different from the rest? They are blessed to have an amazing staff of devoted accomplished artists all under one roof, who have dedicated their entire lives to the arts. The director of the school, Rebeca Russo-Columna has had extensive dance training and is involved in the enhancement and development of each and every student at Academy of Arts. Her hard work and dedication are reflected in the quality of her dancers and the success of the school. Her students have been accepted to some of the most prestigious schools in the nation including; American Ballet Theatre, Boston Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, Orlando Ballet, Houston Ballet, Washington Ballet, Milwaukee Ballet, Atlanta Ballet, Nutmeg Conservatory, Walnut Hill and the Rock. They have also earned scholarships to the Hartt School of Music, Chicago College for the Performing Arts, Florida State University, New World School of the Arts, University of Central Florida and more. Academy of Arts Performing Group is made up of students that have volunteered their time to be a part of many shows that are performed throughout the year. The children are not auditioned but rather are given a chance to enjoy the art of dance. Academy of Arts focus is not on dance recitals or competitions but rather the training offered by an excellent staff all year round. There are no recital fees, no rehearsal fees, no minimum ticket purchases, or high cost costume fees. Academy of Arts Metropolitan Ballet of Florida gives local professionals and talented artists the opportunity for employment. Metropolitan Ballet of Florida also gives Academy of Arts former graduating students a chance to go to college while they continue training, giving them a chance to do what they love while receiving compensation.
