Cybersecurity and Technology Policy – Online, Spring

The Cybersecurity and Technology Policy track combines technical and non-technical foundational courses necessary to understand cybersecurity, as well as emerging technologies and the broader policy implications in an increasingly interconnected world. The program includes courses in policy formation, computer sciences, law, ethics, business and international relations, to cultivate a holistic understanding of one of the most important security trends in the 21st century. Specialized courses include:

• Foundations of Cybersecurity

• Technology Policy

• Computer Systems Fundamentals

• Cybersecurity and Privacy Law

• Cyberspace and Globalization

• Cyber Warfare and Strategy

Globalization and Security – In-person

This track approaches security as a fundamental human need from the perspective of the traditional geopolitical-military approach and the newer, more critical view that the state-centered high politics approach distorts understandings of contemporary security problems. Security pertains to both old and new threats that concern individual states but also transcend individual state boundaries impacting communities, ethnic groups, individuals or the international system as a whole. Specialized courses include:

• Transnational Crime and National Security

• Global and Human Security

• Surveillance, Intelligence, and International Relations

• Migration, Security, and Globalization

• Strategic Studies

International Crime and Justice – Online

The International Crime and Justice track readies students to operate in the areas of domestic and international crime and justice. The track allows students to distinguish themselves from more general criminal justice programs by offering distinctive specialized credentials while at the same time establishing expertise relevant to national security, defense, international organizational missions and countering criminal threats.

• Geospatial Crime Analysis

• Comparative Criminal Justice Systems

• Human Rights and Rule of Law

• Global Financial Crimes

• Terrorism and Homeland Security
