• Our Hero Miles program continued to offer free airline tickets to service members and their families, allowing them to be with their loved ones during a medical crisis. By the end of 2012, we provided 7,947 free airline tickets, saving families close to $12,891,280. Since the program’s inception, Hero Miles has provided 34,658 tickets, valued at over $55 million. • This year we added a new program “Hotel for Heroes” thanks in part to the support of Senator Ben Cardin and Representative “Dutch” Ruppersberger who sponsored legislation to create the program. The Hotels for Heroes program provides hotel rooms to the families of wounded, injured, and ill military service members who are undergoing treatment at authorized medical centers when a Fisher House is not available. Rooms are made possible through the donation of rewards points by the hotel’s rewards members. Partners include: AmericInn, Best Western, Choice, La Quinta, Marriott, Starwoodand Wyndham. Hotels for Heroes provided 459 lodging nights saving families $58,889. • In its 11th year, the Scholarships for Military Children Program awarded more than $1 million in scholarship grants to sons and daughters of active, retired, or reserve military members. The Foundation made a grant of $100,000 to the National Military Family Association to provide scholarship grants to military spouses. The Heroes’ Legacy Program, provided scholarship grants to children of service members killed or permanently disabled since 9/11. Funded primarily by President and Mrs. Obama, this program assisted 64 students with a total of $320,000 in scholarship grants. • Team Fisher House, the online, grassroots fundraising program of Fisher House Foundation, organizes running teams for various race events nationwide. Since the program’s inception in 2006, Team Fisher House has raised $2.67 million at military races across the country. Team Fisher House hosts the 4th largest charity partner team at the Marine Corps Marathon with 450 runners in 2012. • Fisher House Foundation continues to be nationally recognized as a premier non-profit with a “four-star” Charity Navigator rating and a continued A+ from the American Institute of Philanthropy. These are the highest Charity “watchdog” ratings you can receive.

• Car enthusiasts at the Gooding Auction in Pebble Beach, had a chance to bid on a Fiat 500 owned by Jay Leno to support Fisher House Foundation. Secretary of Defense Leon E. Panetta and Army Chief of Staff General Ray Odierno were on stage assisting Jay Leno and David Coker. The auction garnered $350,000 for the Foundation. • The First Lady, Michelle Obama visited the Walter Reed Bethesda Fisher Houses bringing Easter holiday cheer along with First Dog Bo. She helped the Fisher House family’s children participate in a craft project. We continue to be humbled by her enthusiasm and support for Fisher House Foundation. • This was the second year that Fisher House Foundation sponsored the Warrior Games with not only a grant to help support the games but also with Hero Miles tickets so that the warriors could bring their family to cheer them on. The Warrior Games is an opportunity for wounded warriors to compete at the United States Olympic Committee training camp in Colorado Springs.

During the 2012 Warrior Games, members from each branch of service came together after the wheelchair basketball finals to join each other as one military in support of one fight.
