ore than just a beautiful and solid house, this home is a kind of round-the-world trip. Photographs of Buddhas from Burma, furniture from Bali, baskets from Vietnam, lamps from London, vases from Marrakesh, milk jugs from Sri Lanka, Indian linen sheets, a football table salvaged from a boat in Tanzania, a collection of Mallorcan siphons... Because Gabriela and her husband Roland are tireless travellers who have been all around the world. Affording beautiful views of the sea, the sky and the woods, and architecture by Pino Giuseppe Violante with a prevalence of iron, glass and fine materials, the style of the house is extremely sober and industrial, highlighting the large spaces and the height of the ceilings. All of the photographs hanging on the walls of the house (of wild animals, the streets of New York, oriental figures) were taken by Gabriela herself, who counts photography amongst her many skills. One day the light, the colours, the aroma of the orange trees and the flowers of Mallorca captivated the Mauchers, making them settle on the island. At the same time, they enjoy the city of Palma and feel very fortunate to be able to live in a land where they find ‘every reason to be happy’. Todas las fotografías que cuelgan en las paredes de la casa (de animales salvajes, de calles de Nueva York, de figuras orientales) han sido tomadas por la propia Gabriela, que entre muchísimas aptitudes, también es fotógrafa. La luz, los colores, el aroma de los naranjos y de las flores de Mallorca atraparon un día al matrimonio Maucher para instalarse en la isla. Al mismo tiempo, disfrutan de la ciudad de Palma y se sienten muy agradecidos de poder vivir en una tierra donde encuentran “todas las razones para ser felices”. as Haus ist nicht nur wunderschön und solide, sondern vor allem eine besondere Reise um die Welt. Hier reihen sich Buddha-Fotografien aus Birma an balinesische Möbel, vietnamesische Körbe, Londoner Lampen, Vasen aus Marrakech, Milchkannen aus Sri Lanka, indische Leinenlaken, ein Tischfußballspiel, das von einem tansanischen Schiff vor dem Vergessen gerettet wurde und eine mallorquinische Siphon-Kollektion. Wie man sieht, sind Gabriela und ihr Gatte Roland unermüdlich auf Reisen in aller Herren Länder. Der nüchterne, fast industriell anmutende Stil der Villa betont große Räume und hohe Decken, die atemberaubende Ausblicke auf Meer, Himmel und Wald ermöglichen. Eisen, Glasflächen und noble Materialien dominieren das Projekt aus der Feder von Pino Giuseppe Violante. Sämtliche an den Wänden hängende Fotos, ob von wilden Tieren, New Yorks Straßen oder orientalischen Figuren, tragen Gabrielas Stempel, die zu ihren zahlreichen Talenten auch die Fotografie zählt. Das Licht, die Farben, der Duft der Orangenbäume und der Blumen Mallorcas verzauberten das Ehepaar so sehr, dass die Entscheidung für einen Umzug auf die Insel nicht schwer fiel. Außer ihrem Haus genießen die beiden auch die Stadt Palma und sind dankbar „an einem Ort zu leben, der uns allen Grund zum Glücklichsein gibt.“ Die Lebensfreude und Liebe, die die Villa atmet, sind ganz ohne Zweifel das Ergebnis eines wunderbaren inneren Gleichgewichts seiner Bewohner. ás que una casa sólida y hermosa, esta vivienda es una especie de viaje alrededor del mundo. Fotografías de budas de Birmania, muebles de Bali, cestos de Vietnam, lámparas londinenses, jarrones de Marraquech, lecheras de Sri Lanka, sábanas de lino de la India, un futbolín rescatado de un barco de Tanzania, una colección de sifones mallorquines... No en vano, Gabriela y su marido Roland son unos viajeros incansables que han dado la vuelta al mundo. Con unas vistas bellísimas al mar, al cielo y al bosque, y una arquitectura obra de Pino Giuseppe Violante en la que priman el hierro, las cristaleras y los materiales nobles, el estilo de la casa es muy sobrio e industrial, ensalzando los grandes espacios y las alturas de los techos.
