The self-described “Bedroom Producer” and folk musician quietly released three full-length solo albums under various titles before “The Sound of Dogs, ” which is the first full-formed musical project under his real name.

This release has everything you’d want from an indie folk record: incredible lyrics and instrumentation that keeps you coming back, track after track. Not only is this album entirely peaceful and relaxing to listen to, but it also makes you feel like you’re being lulled into a dreamlike state.

“The Sound of Dogs” offers up 12 tracks that are reminiscent of 60s English folk music. Cameron’s voice is like an old friend you haven’t seen in a while, and he sings in a way that makes you feel comfortable and at home. His lyrics are poetic and thoughtful as he sings about love and loss, happiness and sadness. Nothing is overproduced, and Rob’s voice sounds like he’s been singing these songs for years.

Not only does the track list contain some of the most memorable folk music I’ve heard in years, but it’s also beautifully packaged into a collection of songs and short comedic skits that give the listener a glimpse into Cameron’s personality.
