On July 19, 2016, a construction crane being used to build the Tappan Zee Bridge’s replacement bridge collapsed across six lanes of traffic. FDNY companies in the Jackson Heights section of Queens arrived at a multiple dwelling on 83rd Street on July 12, 2016, and found flames shooting from a third floor window with auto exposure to the floors above.
