Around Albania & Macedonia Day 1 Airport-Tirana Arrival at “Mother Teresa”airport and transfer to hotel. Lunch with traditional food in the castle of Petrela. After lunch start exploring the city of Tirana, visit the National Museum,the mosque of Et’Hem Beut, Clock Tower, Castel of Tirana, , Roman Ruins , in the afternoon visit ex- communist area, wich is now the most popular area in the capital with a lot of bar and restaurants. Free evening. Overnight in Tirana. Day 2 Tirana- Fushe Kruje- Lezhe-Shkoder- Kruja After breakfast we travel to Shkodra. Introduction to Shkodra’s old history as one of oldest cities of Balkan penisula. City tour of Shkodra, old Bazaar, cathedral and mosque. Visit to the photography museum “Marubi”. Visit the Castle of Rozafa and the museum inside it, Shkodra’s lake, Drini, Buna and Kir. Than we travel to Shiroka, lunch there with the specialities of trouft. After lunch we travel to Lezha, there we will visit the mausoleum of Scanderbeg and than the Castle of Lezha. Than we travel to Kruja. Dinner in hotel in Kruja. Overnight in Kruja. Day 3 Kruja-Marikaj-Durres After breakfast visit Kruja old city, the impressive museum of ‘Scanderbeg’, Ethnographical Museum and shopping in old Bazaar. Lunch in Marikaj in a farm house with traditional and bio food. Than continue to Durres. We visit Archeological Museum, Ventian Tower. Accommodation and dinner in hotel. After dinner opsional live music. Day 4 Durres-Rrogoshine-Berat- Apollonia-Vlora After breakfast we continue to Berat. One of the oldest inhabited regions of Albania, protected by UNESCO. Visit the castle of Berat with Onufri museum and other churches inside; Mosque of Berat and the old bridge of Gorica. Lunch in Poshnje few km from Berat. The tour continues with a visit to Apollonia. We will visit the museum, Saint Mary Monastery and the church. The trip continue to Vlora where it will accomodation and dinner in hotel. Day 5 Vlora-Llogora- Himara- Saranda After breakfast visit the city, Muradije Mosque, Castle of Kanina with a beautiful views of Vlora’s than we travel to Himara. Lunch in National Park of Llogara with traditionl food and traditional music isopolyphony. Along the way we will see many other interesting picturesque villages like, Palase, Dhermi, Qeparo. Another stop to Porto Palermo (ex-navy submarine base) where it will be a
visit to Ali Pashe Tepelena’s Castle. In the afternoon we arrive in Saranda. Accommodation and dinner in hotel. After dinner opsional music live in castle of Lekurs. Day 6 Saranda-Butrinti-Gjirokastra After breakfast in hotel we visit antic city of Butrint protected by UNESCO. Than we continue to Gjirokastra, lunch in ‘Cajupi’ restaurant in Cerciz Topulli square when we will start the city tour. We will visit the Castle, the Arm’s Museum and Ethnographic Museum (house of Enver Hoxha). Free time for shopping in the old Bazaar. Accommodation and dinner in hotel in Gjirokaster. Day 7 Gjirokaster- Tepelene- Permet- Korca After breakfast in Gjirokaster we depart to Tepelene and along the way visit the antic settlement of Antigonea and than coffe break in Tepelena. We drive to Permet. Lunch in Kelcyre with a traditional cousine and than continue to Korca. Along the way we will see many interesting cities like Erseka and Leskoviku. In the evening we arrived at Korca. Accommodation and dinner in hotel in Korca. Day 8 Korca- Pogradec- Sv Naum- Ohrid After breakfast city tour in Korca. Visit the cathedral in the center of the city and than the oldest school teaching the Albanian language. We continues the trip through Pogradec city, coffe break in Tushemisht. We will visit the Saint Naum, boat trip optional. Than we drive to Ohrid, lunch in ‘Belvedere’ restaurant. Free time to explore Ohrid old city protected by UNESCO. Overnight in Ohrid. Day 9 Ohrid- Kalista-Struga Breakfast in hotel. We start our trip with the fortress of Car Samuel, Cathedral of St. Clement, Church of Saint Sophia - The Church of St. Jovan Kaneos (possible with boat trip). Optinal lunch in “Dalga”restaurant. After lunch we continue our trip throught Struga city. In the way we will visit the monastery of Kalishta. Visit the city of Struga. Accomodattion and dinner at the hotel. Optional Albania live music. Day 10 Struga – Elbasan - Tirana Breakfast at the hotel in Struga. Than we continue our tour to Elbasan, visiting the curch of Saint Mary one of the oldest byzantine church in Albania and than we will visit the Old Mosque and the ottoman fortress. After lunch in the castle of Elbasan in the afternoon we arrived in Tirana. Accommodation and dinner in hotel. Day 11 Tirana - Airport Breakfast in the hotel. Departure for “Mother Teresa”airoport.
