A day in the life of

The team has various reports we run monthly and annually to report back to ExCo and the Board, as a lot of the work we do is to support the business from an Impact, Educational or cost perspective.

We report on all statistics received from students he has educated following their completion of our Financial Education Programme sessions. Also, CO₂ savings as a result of employees using the Tandem bus for the needs of the business, removing individual car journeys.

All costings for projects are reported and shared with the business, as well as a ‘cost tracker’ for any savings made when booking hotel accommodation and travel arrangements for our people.

Finally, over the past year, Facilities has become heavily involved in the reporting side of our Environmental, Social, and Governance Annual SECR* reporting –covering environmental elements connected to our office portfolio and associated suppliers.

SECR - Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR) was introduced in 2019, as legislation to replace the Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) Scheme. SECR requires obligated companies to report on their energy consumption and associated greenhouse gas emissions within their financial reporting for Companies House. Organisations also need to report on any energy efficiency measures and state emissions with reference to an intensity metric.

New Travel and Expenses Policy: This month we launch our new Travel and Expenses Policy, streamlining hotel bookings (via our new partner hotels), and harmonising various legacy policies, under one new Tandem policy. Financial Education Programme Launch: Friday 27 January saw the successful launch of our Financial Education Programme. Tandem hosted the event at our Head Office in Blackpool, welcoming several educational leaders from local schools, colleges and football academies, plus two local MPs. Showcasing our six key modules of Financial Lifecycle, Borrowing, Budgeting, Credit Scores, Financial Security Online and Wage Slips, plus sharing our insight and ambition

Andrew is now hard at work filling his diary with booking from several of the colleges across the region and we plan to further promote our Programme in the coming weeks.

Feeding the workforce: Thanks to our ESG manager Holly Wadeson, we’ve implanted breakfast stations at each of our sites, offering fresh fruit, cereal bars, a selection of porridges, biscuits and cereals, as well as more hearty snacks to provide sustenance for anyone who’s not had time to grab breakfast before heading into work, or has forgotten to bring their lunch!
