AMOC SCHOOL OF EXCELLENCE

Congratulations to Dora Li in Year 10 and Laura Nan in Year 8 who have been selected to participate in the Australian Mathematical Olympiad Committee (AMOC) School of Excellence in December.

This program is a highly selective course, run by the Australian Maths Trust, where aspiring and talented mathematics students are mentored and coached by the brightest academics in advanced areas of mathematics. The principle purpose is to develop mathematical problem-solving skills and identify students who may become members of the Australian team for next year’s European Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad (EGMO) and International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO).

‘To have two students selected for the program is a remarkable and rare achievement. I’m sure both Dora and Laura will benefit greatly from sharing their insights and interacting with other brilliant maths students, all the while extending their mathematical learning’, said Mrs Cathy Devlyn, Mathematics Learning Leader. 17
