Lodging Tax The Convention and Visitor’s Tax is a three percent lodging tax that is utilized to support convention and visitor activities. The City takes an active role in promoting the community by providing funding for Greeley Unexpected, the Greeley Convention and Visitor’s Center, and marketing other community events. Year to date the Lodging Tax revenue for the first month of 2016 has decreased by 26.7% against 2015. The decline in lodging tax revenue had been anticipated; and we are beginning to see this trend in year to date occupancy rates. According to the January 2016 Rocky Mountain Lodging Report Greeley’s occupancy rate is 53.7% as compared to the 58.9% state total. As shown in the graph below, the 2016 budget is lower than 2015 actuals by 17.3%. The 2016 budget projection removes most of the growth seen in the last 3 years.
