The importance of making this building as accessible as possible is paramount. The building is based sround the concept of providing resources to people on the western edge of the city centre who dont have the resources the yneed readily available to them. This becomes even more pertinent whe nconsidering if the existing reources in the city centre are accessible to e.g. wheelchair users.

Disabled car parking is provided down the side of the extension to the building (in compliance with the dimensions outlined in diagram 2). These are also level with the entrance to the building and interior floor level

The main fire core has a lift that has dual openings allowing for easy access to all floors of the building from either side of the lift. This lift meets the minimum dimensions as outlined in diagram 11.

The main entrance doors of the building are power assisted and have a level transistion from the exterior paving to the internal floor. The eliminates the need for ramps etc.

The large, double-height glazed sections of the facade will be fitted with visibility dots so as to improve the visibiliy of the glass to people who are visually impaired.
