8231 Pleasant Valley Road, Hammondsport 607-569-2222; flbm.org Housed in the former taylor Winery, the Museum collection has now grown to more than 115 boats built by many of the 40+ commercial builders identified to date as having built boats throughout the Finger Lakes region during the last century. created and staffed by antique boat enthusiasts dedicated to the preservation of boat building and history, displays are created from the collections, which include everything from canoes and rowboats to outboard runabouts, inboards, iceboats, sailboats and artifacts. Hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., daily. Admission: $8, adults; members and youth, free.

Glenn H. Curtiss Museum

8419 State Route 54, Hammondsport 607-569-2160; glennhcurtissmuseum.org experience the early days of aviation. the Glenn H.curtiss Museum is home to hundreds of priceless artifacts relating to both early aviation and local history. the museum also features a 750-seat theater, a special events area, a gift shop and a restoration shop where volunteer craftsman learn and build. You will see a full-scale reproduction of the first naval aircraft as well as a 1912 “Pusher,” a 1913 “Model e” flying boat, a 1917 “Jenny,” a 1919 “Seagull” flying boat, and a 1927 “robin.” also on display are antique toys, tools, boats, fire equipment, home furnishings, and much more.
