NO FOOD Without Wine
By Mike Tory, The Wine Guy
A
s with all the seasons, the coming of autumn has for me feelings of both joy and pain. The joy comes with the celebration of harvest – the bounty of fields, and, back in the old country, the picking of fruit from vines. The pain is the sorrow of the looming end of a glorious summer, coupled with the thought that soon it will snow. But, without pain, there is no joy. No yin without yang. No dark without light. No food without wine! Here are three sumptuous autumn wines and three tasty tidbits which I hope will bring you a little joy before the pain of winter!
Mike Tory, The Wine Guy, is a recent immigrant to Saskatoon (he fell in love with a Saskatchewan gal) and is delighted at the range of wines available here. His observations have been featured in Wine Spectator, Food & Wine Magazine, a variety of Sunday supplements and various blogs. The Wine Guy is fully committed to the grape cause.
