Equally suited to someone who has dogs, horses, etc. or none and wants all the benefits of living in a beautiful rural setting. In the village there is the Hop Chapel in the Broadtown Brewery and a Primary School and Church. Royal Wootton Bassett, which is three miles away, has Primary and Secondary Schools along with shops and health facilities and a wide range of sports activities. Marlborough with all its amenities is approximately a fifteen-minute drive from the house. The Pink House has a large garage which itself has a part-completed self-contained flat on the first floor and stables adjoining.

What do you love most about the house and why?

Its location and its views, picturesque countryside walks directly outside the front door. Easy access to Bath, Bristol, Reading and London either by train or car on the M4. Close by are the notable historical sights of Avebury and Stonehenge and White Horse Trail with Broad Town having its own White Horse.

What do you love about the local community?

An active community, which is both friendly and sociable, with regular events being held in the Village Hall, a short walk away, catering for all ages. The ability to fully participate in activities without it being intrusive.

How easy is it to commute from here?

Swindon, twenty minutes away is the nearest large town with national rail and bus services, Paddington is less than one hour on the train and access to the M4 is a short drive from the house.

The area is steeped in history dating back to Neolithic times, with some significant sites at nearby Avebury and West Kennet Long Barrow and the iron age hill fort at Barbury Castle, which has stunning panoramic views of the surrounding area. The Ridgeway national trail which runs through Barbury Castle is one of many excellent footpaths, bridlepaths, and trails to be explored, whether that be on foot, horseback, or bicycle. Footpaths and bridleways can be accessed directly from the property.

Broad Town itself offers a primary school, with secondary provision at nearby Royal Wootton Basset Academy, which has been rated as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted.
