Seller Insight
We first discovered The Venture in 2006, drawn by the peaceful beauty of the valley and the remarkable convenience of being so close to Marlow Though enveloped by rolling hills and protected countryside, we can be in t he heart of town in about four minutes, about the length of a good pop song! From the outset, we knew we wanted to create a home that fully embraced its surroundi ngs, so when we built the property in 2012, we incorporated generous expanse s of glass and open-plan living to capture the stunning vistas in every direction. One dining chair, in particular, has a 360-degree view of the fields and gardens, a con stant reminder of the area’s natural splendour.
Stepping inside, we designed the layout to instill a sense of calm from the m oment you walk through the front door. The airy entrance hall, galleried landing, and vaulted ceilings all work together to amplify light and space, while floor-to-c eiling windows invite the outdoors in, especially at sunrise, when the valley is bat hed in a warm, golden glow. The underfloor heating makes winter mornings won derfully cosy, yet on bright summer days, you’ll want to open the bi-fold doors to the terrace and savour the fresh air. Our garden office offers a peaceful spot to work, and we’ve created various outdoor seating areas to suit every occasion, from hammock naps to sunset dinners.
Hosting friends and neighbours has always been a joy here. We once welc omed over 80 guests for our wedding, with ample space for everyone to relax and celebrate. The lane itself has a wonderfully tight-knit community spirit; w e gather for seasonal events, maintain a defibrillator in the old phone box, and share dogwalking routes through the surrounding countryside. We’ll certainly miss the gatherings at the top of the slope, where we’ve enjoyed countless picnics and e ven campouts under the stars, uninterrupted by light pollution.
As we prepare to move on, we’ll miss absolutely everything, particularly th e tranquillity and the ever-changing views. Our best advice to future owner s? Invest in a good hammock, settle in, and let the peaceful energy of The Venture e nvelop you as it has us.”*
