Seller Insight Having moved to Bristol for work and wanting to be closer to my parents-in-law in Stratford-upon-Avon, this property fulfilled all of our needs as a young family,” says the current owner of this superb traditional detached four bedroom house with accommodation over three floors. “It is a beautiful place in which to bring up children, with a picturesque and spacious garden.” The ground floor accommodation, perfectly suited to a growing family, comprises an entrance hall with doors leading through to sitting room, dining room area and ground floor cloakroom. To the rear of the house is a significant single storey extension with vaulted ceiling, built by the current owners, which proffers an open plan breakfast, kitchen and family room with double French doors opening to the garden. The first floor hosts three bedrooms, two of which doubles, family bathroom and separate W.C. As well as being ideal for everyday family life, the house is also well suited to entertaining. “This is a fabulous party house,” says the owner, “where we have hosted birthday celebrations for our daughter (now 26) every year since the day she turned three. Hers is a summer birthday, so this annual garden party has become a pilgrimage for much of our family coming from London and further afield. Like a traditional fête throughout the lovely garden which unfolds around the house, we have so many photographs charting our memories at this time from year to year. Having formerly been an orchard, the garden is simple but pretty, and very family friendly, with enough space laid to lawn for above ground swimming pools of various sizes, growing as our children did!” Set in a sought after location in the heart of popular Stratford-upon-Avon, the property permits an easy stroll into the centre of town for a variety of independent shops, bars and restaurants together with the world famous Shakespeare Theatre. Access is also convenient to motorway links and local railway stations. “I will greatly miss the space I have created, with the expansive feel of a converted barn.” “I love the light and airy loft conversion overlooking fantastic views to the rear of the church and the hills going all the way over.” “The gardens are like an oasis, so tranquil and peaceful, and not overlooked by anyone on either side.” “Having been here for 24 years and brought my children up here, 81 Shottery Road will always hold a plethora of happy memories for me and my family.” * These comments are the personal views of the current owner and are included as an insight into life at the property.
