Seller Insight This outstanding family home which is located in the pretty village of Harlaston is conveniently nestled between Lichfield and Tamworth in the Mease valley, set amidst glorious open countryside. The village has a strong and sociable sense of community with the Post Office/convenient store being the hub of village life. In addition, the local pub, which serves excellent meals, is also a popular gathering place. Urban centres such as Birmingham, Solihull and Sutton Coldfield are all easy to reach and road and rail links are first rate, with nearby Tamworth providing a fast service into London Euston of around one hour fifteen minutes. The owners already lived in the village and were looking to move to a larger family home. They had long admired this, impressive, Victorian property from a distance, and were delighted when it came onto the market. With much experience in the renovation of properties they relished the opportunity to return the dwelling back to its original glory. The owners came to live here seven years ago, together with their young family. It was quite an adventure living in the house whilst the renovation and restoration work took place and, eventually, it did become the house of their dreams. They were utterly charmed with the amount of Victorian artefacts which remained particularly its original sash windows and shutters, wonderful high ceilings and fabulous origanal doors. Today, even with the large extension they have added, together with added comforts and luxuries, its Victorian ambience is enhanced and everything does blend in beautifully. Cooking is a great priority in the family and day to day life and sociable time revolves in large kitchen/dining/family room; children, friends and family are always to be found in here. This space leads out into the orangery and it does become one wonderful companionable, relaxed, area. The house sits amidst its large garden surrounded by fields and meadows. However the owners do enjoy a quiet stroll into the village, especially when are meeting up with friends in the local pub. The main reception room is very special. It is large enough for comfy sofas and the family piano. It also has an open fire and is a room where the family gather to relax after Christmas lunch. The dining room has it own particular ambience. It too has the option of an open fire and when the table is set, candles are lit, it is a magical room for those occasions when the owners enjoy a formal dining occasion. The owners, justifiably, feel a sense of pride in restoring this lovely house, but It is time for another chapter in their lives. It has been such a wonderful family home and from which they will take only the happiest of memories.
