Information
Location
Osbournby (pronounced ‘Ozzenby’) is an attractive village straddling the A15, 5 miles south of Sleaford and not far from the junction with the A52 that leads to Grantham westbound. Everything is within walking distance of the property such as the church dedicated to St Peter and St Paul and a primary school situated down a slip road off the old London Road. The Whichcote Arms, located in the same slip road, is shortly due to re-open with additional shops and amenities in the buildings behind following a complete refurbishment.
Grantham is only a 20 minute drive west where fast trains to London King’s Cross take approximately one hour, where you can pick up the A1, and where there are superb schools, the latter even nearer in Sleaford, about 10 minutes north. Access onto the A17 is within easy reach for travelling to The North or towards Norfolk eastwards. The magnificent, historic city of Lincoln is directly north up the A15, about a 30 minute drive.
Schools
Despite being a small village, Osbournby has its own little primary school, Ofsted rated Good. For secondary education, the superb grammar schools in Sleaford are only about 6 miles (10 mins) north - Carre’s Grammar School, and Kesteven & Sleaford High School (for Girls), as well as St. George’s Academy, all rated Good by Ofsted; similarly, excellent grammar schools in Grantham are about 11 miles (20 mins) west - The King’s School (for boys) and Kesteven and Grantham Girls’ School which are rated Outstanding by Ofsted with other popular secondary schools, Greenfields Academy and Walton Academy both rated Good by Ofsted.
