104 1972 AERMACCHI HD 350 ALA D’ORO L’Ala d’Oro è una motocicletta da competizione costruita dall’Aermacchi dal 1961 al 1972. Il 1964 vide l’introduzione del nuovo modello DS-S, spinto da un nuovo motore a corsa corta (72x61 mm), con 32 CV a 9400 giri/min e la possibilità di raggiungere i 10.000 giri/min. Nel frattempo, i piloti ufficiali Aermacchi avevano fatto debuttare nelle corse già dal 1961 una 350, che fu disponibile per i privati dal 1964: aveva motore a corsa lunga (74x80 mm) e cambio a 5 rapporti (i primi esemplari, però, avevano ancora 4 marce). Nel 1966 le Ala d’Oro vennero aggiornate con frizione a secco, rapporti del cambio allungati, un nuovo pistone e carburatori maggiorati (da 35 mm per la 250 e da 38 per la 350), divenendo più affidabili. l 1969 vide le Ala d’Oro ufficiali cogliere diversi podi tra 350 e 500. Negli anni precedenti le motociclette Aermacchi presentate potrebbero avere corso con livrea Ceramiche Lux.
The Ala d’Oro is a racing motorbike built by the Aermacchi from 1961 to 1972. 1964 is characterised by the introduction of the new DS-S model, driven by a new short-stroke engine (2,83x2,40 inch), with 30 hp at 9400 rpm and the possibility to reach 10,000 rpm. Even if the Aermacchi official drivers run a motorcycle model 350 in racing since 1961, this model was available to the public only since 1964: it had a long-stroke engine (2,91x3,15 inch) and a 5-speed transmission type (the first models, however, still had four transmission type). In 1966 the Ala d’Oro became more reliable, thanks to the updated dry clutch, the new piston and the increased carburettors (from 1,38 inc for the 250 and from 1,50 for the 350). During 1969, the Ala d’Oro reach many podiums between 350 and 500. The motorcycle model is characterised by the improvement in the performance, bringing the displacement to 408 cc. In previous years, the presented Aermacchi motorcycles could have run with the Ceramiche Lux livery.
