74 1955 RUMI JUNIOR 125 CORSA Nel 1955 prende corpo il progetto di produrre una motoleggera per partecipare alle gare di III categoria. La creazione fu a cura dell’Ing. Salmaggi, direttore tecnico della Rumi, la Junior era uno sviluppo della Bicarburatore. Venne adottato un nuovo telaio in tubi leggeri di vario diametro a culla aperta e doppia triangolazione, forcellone oscillante posteriore e forcella tipo Earles all’anteriore e equipaggiata con il serbatoio, disegnato dallo stesso Rumi, di 18 litri. Venne presentata al Salone di Torino nella primavera del 1955 e fu prodotta in soli 300 esemplari e commercializzata in Europa e in America; in Italia il prezzo di lancio fu fissato a 275.000 Lire. Nel corso degli anni vengono apportate alcune modifiche ma resta di fatto invariata fino al 1959 quando venne sostituita dalla gentleman.
Created in 1955 by Mr Salmaggi, Rumi’s technical director, the Junior was a development of the Bicarburatore. A new frame was adopted in light tubes of various diameters with open cradle and double triangulation, swinging rear swingarm and Earles type fork at the front and equipped with an 18 litres tank, designed by Rumi himself. It was presented at the Turin Motor Show in the spring of 1955 and was produced in only 300 specimens and sold in Europe and America. In Italy, the list price was set at 275,000 Lire. The proposed sample has been used several times by Gianni Migliazzi (the collector and restorer of the collection that bears his name) and has participated in several editions of the historical re-enactments of the Motogiro d’Italia and the Gran Fondo Milano-Taranto.
