Christmas Cake tells the story of peace and happiness brought by love and sacrifice in an era where love and sacrifice is dying an unusual death. Immanuel is an orphan with no merits of inheritance to his name. His life had been a burden the reason he was abandoned by the people who should have loved him unconditionally. Even his name was charity, in the name of kindness or humanity, from Fr Michael. Everyone unifies with the protagonist; as all of us receives the gifts of life and living, and take pride believing the gift are our achievements in our journey between birth and death. But the fact remains; behind each achievement and smile are tears of loss and sacrifice, of someone. This movie takes you through a deeper journey, of recognition of the bigger picture of life, and that’s what we try to discuss and convey via this movie.
