hile some may prefer to stay inside to keep cool this summer, visiting a splash pad, water park, or natural body of water with friends or family is a great way to beat the heat. If you are looking for alternatives to neighborhood pools, here are a few places in Georgetown that can be fun for anyone.

Garey Park, one of Georgetown’s many nature gems, boasts scenic hiking trails and ponds as well as family friendly amenities. A 7,000-square-foot splash pad is perfect for toddlers and kids to cool off after a nature walk. The 28 water features are motion controlled: water cannons, tunnels, spider spray, and a water mill. The splash pad is open now through October 31 from 8am to 7:30pm, weather permitting. The park is open April 1-September 30, 8am to 8pm, and October 1-March 31, 8am to 6pm. Admission to the park is $2 per resident, $4 E HOLE for non-residents, and free for ages 3 and under, BLU PA including all non-equestrian amenities. Visit R 6450 RM 2243 in Georgetown. SAN JOSE PARK
This fun little park is free every day and open 8am-9pm. Located at 1107 San Jose St, there is a splashpad on a timer, picnic tables, and a shaded playscape. Restrooms and street parking are available.
