fter years of showing love and compassion for her students in the classroom, this substitute teacher is getting payback in the best way. Mrs. Terry, as the kids call her, has been a proud substitute teacher for the Liberty Hill ISD for several years. Recently, and due to financial challenges and the need for a new heater, Mrs. Terry realized she needed to forego her substitute schedule for a full-time job. Her time at LHISD has been so impactful that, when students Noah Long, Ben Carter, and Joe Pitchford heard she was leaving, they decided to do what they could to help her financially. Ben said, “The day she told us in the classroom, Noah, Joe, and I knew we needed to help. She has helped us out so much. Noah

made a GoFundMe page and together we all shared it and kept it organized.” Not only did the three young men raise more than $13,000, Service Wizard of Austin heard of the boys’ fundraiser and gave Mrs. Terry a new heater. Noah said, “It is amazing how great this community is. I am so thankful for not just the donations but the shares too." Ben agreed, “If any of us ever see a need in the future, we would not hesitate to offer help and we hope others are impacted by this and will do the same.” It is a testament to Mrs. Terry's commitment and positive influence that Liberty Hill students are so eager to do good. Again and again, way to build champions Liberty Hill!
