1. DEFINITION FOR CHURCH LEADERS AND OFFICERS
Any individual elected and/or appointed to a position of a ministry who is responsible for the direction and purpose of that ministry. Having the ability to mend, put together opposing factions, to achieve ideals, to reach and surpass goals necessary to exemplify successful Christian living and Kingdom building.
2. QUALITIES FOR CHURCH LEADERS AND OFFICERS
A. A growing Christian commitment to Jesus Christ in all avenues of life. B. A loyal and informed Church member aligned with our Vision and Purpose. C. A dependable worker. D. A willing learner. E. An enthusiastic leader. F. One who loves people. G. One who is passionate about personal and congregational prayer. H. A peacemaker. I. A willingness to work with the Senior Pastor, Executive Minister and Directors of
Ministries. J. Expected to be a tither. K. Develops or grooms others to fulfill their responsibilities. L. Is willing to accept and use other people’s points of view and accepts constructive criticism. M. Has a high regard for oneself and is able to assess his/her own strengths and limitations.
3. REQUIREMENTS FOR CHURCH LEADERS AND OFFICERS
A. Be involved in a Communal Bible Study associated with this congregation, as a student or instructor, a minimum of twelve (12) weeks per year. B. Attend the majority of the scheduled meetings of your ministry, and in the event you cannot attend, you shall inform the appropriate leader(s) of your absence prior to the scheduled meeting. C. Attend Worship Services on a regular basis more than the minimum requirement necessary to maintain church membership. D. Keep before the ministry the primary purpose for its existence. These purposes should be written, distributed to every member and revised periodically with the entire membership. E. Service-oriented. There is no other reason that one should hold a leadership/office role in the Church. F. Know what it means to be a Baptist. G. Attend the Annual Church Leaders and Workers Conference. H. Effective February 1, 1999, all Chairpersons/ Presidents and Vice-Chairpersons/ Vice-
Presidents cannot serve more than three, one-year consecutive terms unless for cause, approval given by the Senior Pastor.

Presidents, Clergy, Deacons and Governance Council members are expected to be tithers. J. Effective January 1, 2018, all Church Leaders/Officers are required to attend one of our
Weekly Congregational Prayer Opportunities on Wednesdays--Pre-Noonday Prayer or the beginning prayer portion of Prayer, Worship and the Word on Wednesdays, or on Sundays prior to either of our Sunday morning worship services, at least, twelve (12) times a year, preferably more than once a month. K. Complete the Spiritual Gifts Evaluation every three years.
