ITEM #40
While Item #40 this year is not directed at a tangible item, this year’s needs are no less important in providing a quality experience for our student-athletes! A main part of that quality experience begins with scholarships, which are imperative in bringing these athletes to FHSU in the rst place. Once they are here, the focus on a quality experience is a ected by our facilities, our equipment, our travel arrangements, etc. Focusing Item #40 on scholarships will, in turn, free up other resources needed to address ongoing operational costs.
Scholarship Facts
- Scholarship allotments are set by the NCAA and uctuate signi cantly by sport.
- Scholarship Example: D-2 football is allowed 36 scholarships while D-1 is allowed 85.
- Equivalencies at the D-II level are designed to be broken into partial scholarships.
- On average, these partial scholarships at the D-2 level equate to less than 30% per athlete.
- In 2022-23, FHSU Awarded 77% of NCAA Division II allowable athletic aid.
*Contributions to Item #40 are tax deductible and can be made in installments until June 2024. Donation increments are $10,000; $5,000; $2,500; $1,000; $500; and $250. All donors will be recognized in the football and basketball game programs throughout the year.
