The mechanical system strategiescomprises of systems based on mechanical ventilation and air-conditioning. As the combined effect of high year-round internal heat gains during store opening hours and high moisture content in the ambient air, it would be impractical to consider natural ventilation as part of any strategy for maintaining thermal comfort. In recognition of this, the design utilizes a modest degree of positive pressurisation within the retail sales area. AHUs are mounted on the LG Level, having the ductwork close to the technical risers and provide direct air distribution to the sales area. Both AHUs will be located in one plantroom and within Apple demise.
