Join us for this free introductory workshop. The Enneagram, pronounced En-ne-a-gram, is a word describing a symbol. Ennea is Greek for the number 9 and gram is a diagram. The symbol is a triangle in a circle with 9 points depicting 9 basic personality types. It outlines with metaphysical precision, a guide to our human personality. Used spiritually and in business environment, the Enneagram enables us to see ourselves, discover how to better understand our uniqueness, and strengthen our relationships personally and professionally. This four-week class focuses on the Calusa, early inhabitants of Southwest Florida. Where did “the First People”, ancestors of the Calusa come from? Discover where many of the Calusa villages in Florida developed and flourished and what their homes looked like. What was the daily diet of these tribes living in the estuarial waters of our area? Learn what happened to the Calusa. This class concludes with a self-transported tour to the Randell Research Center at Pine Island. This course sharpens your narrative techniques and copy editing skills as they apply to journal and travel writing, whether your trips are around the corner, a sojourn, a weekly ritual or circle the globe. Participants will bone up on style, discuss attributes of crisp, vibrant prose, and complete daily, entries in a journal or log book. Fee includes 2 to 3 personal critiquing email sessions with instructor. A mini library of books for inspiration and ideas will be available at each class. Discover your literary voice!
