FAMOUS NAMES AND NEW TALENTS SINCE 30 YEARS OUTSTANDING EXHIBITIONS ON AN INTERNATIONAL LEVEL

The Fotografie Forum Frankfurt (FFF) was founded in 1984 as a center for contemporary and historical photography of international standing. It is an exhibition space, an institution and a forum for the investigation and enjoyment of photography. All forms of photography and a wide variety of aspects of the medium are introduced or reflected upon including documentary, staged and conceptional projects in the arts, journalism, fashion, science and advertising. The exhibition program encompasses newly discovered talent and famous classic photographers. To date, more than 250 exhibitions have been presented, including; Jacques Henri Lartigue, Helmut Newton, Tina Modotti, Barbara Klemm, Robert Frank, Imogen Cunningham, Sebastião Salgado, Dorothea Lange, Roger Ballen, Sarah Moon, Viviane Sassen, Andy Warhol, Alberto Garcia Alix, Walker Evans, Martin Parr, Elinor Carucci, Hans van der Meer, Gisele Freund and David Maisel. The Fotografie Forum Frankfurt presented most of these artists for the first time in Germany. Furthermore, Fotografie Forum Frankfurt organizes the FFF Academy with lectures and workshops of renowned photographers and experts. It offers an interactive, challenging forum for the further study of photography, art education, exchange and discussion. The new home of Fotografie Forum Frankfurt is located downtown, in the center of the cultural district. Braubachstrasse 30–32 is a renovated historical space with exhibition areas, multimedia rooms for lectures and projections and a reference library – an ideal location for special guided tours, presentations and events. FFF is supported by the non-profit organization, Förder kreis Fotografie Forum Frankfurt e. V. and by the Department of Culture of the city of Frankfurt am Main. Photo graphy fans, friends, individual sponsors and more than 485 members have accompanied the institute for over 30 years.

Celina Lunsford (USA) has been the artistic director since 1992. She has worked as a curator, author and lecturer in Asia, Europe and the USA and she has written and published numerous specialist publications. Celina Lunsford is a guest lecturer at the Philips University of Marburg and the Joop Swart Master Class of the World Press Photo Foundation in Amsterdam. On behalf of the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF), she took on a mentorship for talented, young photographers. In 2010, she became the vice president of the German Photographic Academy. She has recently worked for and with some of the following projects: RAY Fotografieprojekte Frankfurt/ RheinMain, the International Photography Festival Łód´z (Poland), the Lianzhou International Photography Festival in China and for La Fabrica and the Fundación Mapfre in Madrid. Fotografie Forum Frankfurt is the founding member and sponsor of the cultural event RAY Fotografieprojekte Frankfurt/RheinMain under the project management of Sabine Seitz, managing director of the Fotografie Forum Frankfurt. Fotografie Forum Frankfurt has set the goal of making all aspects of photography available to the broader public through exhibitions and events. One example of this is our annual program within the context of the art and cultural program of the Frankfurt Book Fair. Each year, FFF presents exhibitions of important photographers and book projects of artists from the respective Book Fair guest country. In this way, Fotografie Forum Frankfurt brings the diversity of inter national photographic art and the photo book scene to Frankfurt and the German public.
