AFA Executive Director Announces Retirement
American Fence Association Executive Director Tony Thornton announces his retirement from AFA effective March 31, 2022. Thornton has served as the AFA executive director for the past eight years. His 45 plus years of industry experience as a contractor, wholesaler and working in manufacturing offered a unique perspective to support the role of executive director to the association.
Through his leadership and support of the AFA boards and staff, membership has grown, new education programs have been developed and overall relevance to the benefits of being a member has increased.
Thornton will continue his support of the AFA and be a spokesperson for the association and the fencing industry as he enters a new era of fence life. His passion to coach, mentor, teach and educate companies on proper business efficiencies and profitability will be his next career path as he launches Thornton Fence Consulting Group.
The goal for the consulting group will be to analyze, identify, advise, and execute, bringing profitability to organizations. The mission is to create long-term relationships to mentor, train, advise, and support companies on this quest.
