Reflective Slats for Chain Link Fencing Increase Visibility
Chain link is a durable, cost-effective fencing material, but visibility can be an issue in certain applications. Reflective inserts can be a useful and vibrant tool to aid in visibility.
Mike Levy, vice president of sales at National Metal Industries, created a type of reflective slat material that is now produced by Pexco, LLC.
“The fence inserts are durable, rigid PVC plastic strips with highly reflective abrasion resistant weather proof tape,” explains Levy.
The fence reflectors are easy to install and fasten in a chain-link fence system either diagonally, horizontally or vertically. “They are ideal for gate markers and sections of fence where visibility is critical, especially at night,” he says.
The slats can easily be installed on wood, PVC and ornamental fences, too. “The reflective inserts are made from 1 ¼” wide rigid PVC which are laminated with the highly reflective, abrasion resistant tape,” explains Rob Kilroy, director of sales with Pexco. “The tape is put on during the extrusion process which prevents the tape from peeling off. These inserts are 4’ long and designed to be able to fit into chain link fencing in a variety of directions.”
