Fritz Grasenick Award
Since 2007 the Fritz Grasenick Award is presented to young scientists who are doing research in the field of electron microscopy by the “Austrian Society for Electron Microscopy”. The prize is sponsored by the “Association for the Promotion of Electron Microscopy and Fine Structure Research” to remember Dr. Fritz Grasenick (1916–2003) the Austrian pioneer of electron microscopy who was the head of the first microscopy facility at the later Graz University of Technology (former Technische Hochschule) and founder of the “Graz Centre for Electron Microscopy”. Young researchers from our Institute have been quite successful in these past years. Roland Schmied was awarded in 2013, only a year later Franz-Philipp Schmidt successfully handed in his application. Congratulations!
Ferdinand Hofer awards Roland Schmied at the Graz University of Technology.
