TRANSPORTATION & TRANSPORTATION SECURITY LAW SECTION The Transportation & Transportation Security Law Section selected Ami Lovell as chair and Sarah Nural as deputy chair for the FY22 term. On December 8, the section hosted its 30th Annual Lawyers of the Year Award Ceremony. Given the circumstances, the event was held virtually. The section awarded honors to John Donaldson of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Susan Prosnitz of the Transportation Safety Administration. For many years, the section has annually sponsored a reception on Capitol Hill to honor the general counsels of the Departments of Transportation and Homeland Security, as well as the chief counsels and general counsels of the various transportation-related agencies. On April 28, the section hosted a virtual lunchtime program on Commercial Space Transportation Regulation with three panelists from the Federal Aviation Administration. The program was well attended by FBA current and prospective members, including law students. On July 28, the section hosted a virtual event titled “Meet DOT Acting General Counsel John

Putnam.” 100+ members and guests were in attendance for a moderated discussion with the deputy general counsel for the U.S. Department of Transportation, who serves as the acting general counsel. In addition, the section held its annual Transportation Security Law Forum as a two-day event on September 8 and September 15. The 2021 theme was “Responding to Evolving Threats to Transportation Security.” The first panel discussed “COVID-Related Mandates in Transportation: Lessons Learned and Considerations for the Future,” and the second panel discussed “Transportation Cybersecurity: Federal and Industry Initiatives.” Nearly 200 members and guests attended the sessions. 
