(10-Adult) Enjoy a naturalist-led hike and identify plants that are safe to eat and which ones to avoid. Other helpful plants are identified for uses such as rope making and folk remedies with connections to Eastern Woodland Indians. Wear sturdy shoes for walking. Ellanor C. Lawrence Park and Walney Visitor Center Bees Please

(6-Adult) Hike with a naturalist to explore different types of bees that buzz around the meadow. Supporting Earth Day’s “Restore the Earth” theme.

The Walney Visitor Center features live animals, natural and cultural exhibits and a hands-on area for young visitors highlighting the past farmland and present parkland. Features include: • Out-building foundations • Dairy/spring house • Ice house ruins • Reconstructed smokehouse • Gardens • Meadow and pond • Woodland trails • Family-friendly activity backpacks • Kid-friendly red wagon sandboxes • Educational boxes ($30 rental) Grounds open dawn to dusk. Visit the website for more information and visitor center hours. Programs meet at the Walney Visitor Center unless otherwise noted.
