F.C. Students Earn Academic Honors Throughout Virginia

Several students from Falls Church earned academic honors at colleges, universities and other academic institutions throughout Virginia during the spring 2015 semester. Rotary Club of McLean Installs 2015-2016 Officers The Rotary Club of McLean installed its new officers for 20152016 on Tuesday, June 30, at the Bistro Restaurant in the community building of Vinson Hall Retirement Community. Paul Satwell, past president of the club’s McLean chapter, passed on leadership of the club to incoming president Lynn Heinrichs. The following club members were officially installed as officers and directors by Rotary assistant district governor Ronie Chantker: Eva Sereghy, director at large; Carol Stone, director at large; Lois Wilson, DDS, service director; Dana Sippel, membership director; Thamir Al’Hashimi, sergeant-at-arms; Jan Auerbach, treasurer; Rick Neldon, public image director; Michael Arietti, president elect; Paul Sawtell, past

The Rotary Club of Mclean meets for lunch on Tuesdays at noon in Fellowship Hall of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, located at 1545 Chain Bridge Road, McLean. BalletNova Announces Summer Dance Camps BalletNova announced their summer dance camps and workshops for kids ages 4 – 18 earlier this month, the first of which, a young children’s half-day camp themed after Midsummer Night’s Dream, wrapped on last Friday, July 10. The dance studio is currently accepting registrations online at BalletNova. org or in the studio, located at 3443 Carlin Springs Road, Falls Church. The next session of the halfday camp, Around the World, is scheduled for August 10 – 14. At the camp, children ages 4 1/2 – 6 will explore the world of dance and movement by learning dances, stories and doing crafts to improve gross motor skills and stimulate imagination and creativity. The cost of the camp, which lasts from 9 a.m. – noon everyday, is $230. There are also all-day dance camps scheduled for the end of July and beginning of August for children ages 6 – 9 and ages 8 – 11.
