About GIBU Leaders: Welcome to GIBU! This has been written so that you can better understand the role of each leader. Moreover, we will property understand the global vision of G.I.B.U. Habakkuk 2:2 “And the Lord gave me an answer, and said, Put the vision in writing and make it clear on stones, so that the reader may go quickly.” Habakkuk 2:3 “For the vision is still for the fixed time, and it is moving quickly to the end, and it will not be false: even if it is slow in coming, go on waiting for it; because it will certainly come, it will not be kept back.”

About Grace: The purpose of Grace international Bible University is to help all churches and Christians fulfill the Great Commission of Jesus Christ throughout the world. Jesus said, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth, go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:18–20). The Grace international Bible University helps Christians get the education they need by making G.I.B.U. affordable for people who are not able to pay thousands of dollars per year to attend a major Bible University. It makes a Bible education available by its location right in the city at your own Church or Community. It makes a Bible education achievable for people of all ethnic and socioeconomic groups. G.I.B.U. makes Bible education practical for those who want an education that focuses on training in the Bible, Ministry, and the Christian Life. And G.I.B.U. helps churches by developing loyal, competent members who will work with the pastor as he or she leads. Just what you’ve been looking for!

G.I.B.U. IS THREE SCHOOLS IN ONE: 1. A BIBLE SCHOOL 2. A GRADUATE SCHOOL OF INTERCULTURAL STUDIES (MISSION) 3. A SEMINARY. Each of these schools offer degrees appropriate to the purpose of the school and its student body. Due to the decentralized nature of the University, many of the same courses are used in the various degree programs. The number of units required, and the balance of courses are different in each case. See the degree descriptions section of the admissions for specifics.


Grace School of the Bible The School of the Bible includes all undergraduate programs, Certificate, Associate Diploma, and Bachelor. This is the division that continues the primary purpose for which Grace was founded, which is to help fulfill the Great Commission through the development of individuals who will plant, renew, and multiply churches in the urban centers of the world, including training and developing lay leadership for churches, and providing Bible education for all Christians, which is balanced, liferelated, and grounded in Biblical principles and church history.

Our Vision The Vision of G.I.B.U is to help offer free tuition to Christians by establishing Colleges in more the 150 Nations, giving affiliations to about fifty thousand Churches, and by giving (250) Thousands of Scholarships to Bachelor, Master, Doctor and PhD Students Worldwide!

Our Mission Our mission is to help train and conduct a quality Biblical Education and Produce Godly Leaders through our Free Tuition for Bachelor, Master, and Ph.D. Degrees Program. This will be done by providing electronic teaching materials, starting new colleges throughout the globe. We do this by appointing National, Regional, State, Provenience, or County Directors, who will then help direct the National University in their Country. They will, in turn, recognize and accept this mission to add or to establish colleges across their Nation through Local Churches for the fulfillment of the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20).

GRACE INTERNATIONAL BIBLE MISSION is to help with teaching Materials to start various National Colleges through any Senior Minister of that Country, who will then serve as a National Director and the National College will in return establish: Regional/ Province Colleges. Regional/ Province College Directors will start a District School Known as a Recourse Center. District School Reports to the Regional/Province Colleges. County college/Regional/Province Colleges also report to National College. National College Report directly to the International Director. Remember that from the district schools, 50% of fees goes to Regional/Province Office. County Colleges also sent 40% of their operations to National and national College Report 30% to International for lesson materials and Graduate Document Production.

Statement of Faith‌


The Holy Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, is inspired by God, the only scriptural truth, and the standard for Christian living. The True Jesus Church, established by our Lord Jesus Christ, through the Holy Spirit during the time of the 'latter rain', is the restored true church of the apostolic time. Water baptism is the sacrament for the remission of sins for regeneration, in the name of Jesus Christ. The baptism must take place in natural living water, such as the river, sea and Creek. Receiving the Holy Spirit, evidenced by speaking in tongues, is the guarantee of our inheritance of the Kingdom of Heaven. The ceremony of foot washing enables one to have a part with the Lord Jesus. It also serves as a constant reminder that one should have love, holiness, humility, forgiveness, and service. Every person who has received water baptism must have his/her feet washed in the name of Jesus Christ. The Holy Communion is the self-punishment to remember the death of the Lord Jesus Christ. It enables us to partake of the flesh and blood of our Lord and to be in spiritual union with Him so that we can have eternal life and be raised on the last day. This sacrament shall be held as often as possible. Salvation is given by the grace of God through faith. Believers must rely on the Holy Spirit to follow holiness, to honor God, and to love humanity. The Lord's Second Coming will take place on the last day when He descends from heaven to judge the world: the righteous will receive eternal life, while the wicked will be eternally condemned

Our Values… GRACE INTERNATIONAL BIBLE UNIVERSITY is inter-denominational and has been established to work in concert with churches and other ministries in the area who want to see a rapid increase in the number and effectiveness of churches in the City. Grace is instrumental in keeping the people’s civilization and socioeconomic identity intact. It is a multi-ethnic school that helps each group develops its own approach to reaching its people for Christ. Grace is designed for regular people who will never be able to afford a major Christian University or Collage education; for people who come from oral tradition cultures and therefore do not fit in well with the dominant academic establishment; and for people who have been “marginalized” by “the system” for any number of other reasons. Grace is designed to develop character, Bible knowledge, relationship with God, and ministry capability. Here at Grace we use teachers who are spiritually mature and have ministries themselves; who teach from experience as well as academic preparation. Every teacher is gifted with the ability to make the classroom come alive, to cause learning and life-change right in the room with little outside homework needed. Grace is designed for working people with families who are active in their own churches and, therefore, do not have great amounts of time for schooling

At GIBU we strive to equip all believers regardless of denominations and to train ministers and church leaders, to partner with other ministries and individual ministers, to sponsor a child’s education, to provide student feeding, to help the needy, to provide more scholarships for students, and to provide more opportunities to all people who may need it. To build Vocational and Academic Schools, Colleges and Universities across the world. Goals and Objectives The Goals reflect what GIBU seeks to foster and develop through distance learning. Goals & Objectives reflect what a student will be learning to do, and ultimately what a graduate will be equipped to do. The Goals and Objectives flow out of the Mission Statement, and affirm the Articles of Faith as they are accomplished.

Foster a Christian Worldview in Attitudes and Values (Heart) Objective: GIBU graduates will be able to articulate a biblically-based Christian worldview of the subject area of study through the informed perspectives they express in their academic activities. A biblically-based Christian worldview emphasizes the interpretation of personal and cultural beliefs and practices through the lens of Scripture apart from the theological positions of any one Christian denomination. An informed perspective is one that explores and utilizes precedent literature to compare the attitudes and values in one worldview with those of another.

Foster Spiritual Formation and Whole Person Development (Soul) Objective: GIBU graduates will be able to identify best practices that contribute to personal growth and spiritual formation through self-assessment and peer evaluation. Best practices are sustainable actions and conditions that a person has experienced as making a long-term and positive impact on their whole person development. Through self-assessment a person evaluates their formation and development, which guides them in identifying their best


practices. Through peer evaluation a person receives external feedback, which helps refine selfassessment.

Develop Subject Area Knowledge and Understanding (Mind) Objective: GIBU graduates will be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the principles and practices of the subject area of study through critical reflection of scholarly resources. Knowledge and understanding involve the ability to recall factual and abstract information, and to utilize that information correctly and as appropriate to the context. Critical reflection evaluates those facts, abstractions, and applications through the lens of a biblically-based Christian worldview and the objective analysis of authoritative resources.

Develop Subject Area Applications and Skills (Strength) Objective: GIBU graduates will be able to demonstrate skills in the subject area of study through well-reasoned applications and evaluations deployed in life, work, and ministry.

Well-reasoned applications and evaluations are a demonstration of the skill of a person to integrate a Christian worldview in attitudes and values with spiritual formation and whole person development and subject area knowledge and understanding. A person demonstrates their skills in the subject area of study through the deployment of those applications and evaluations in life, work, and ministry context.


Bishop Elect Dr. Rudolph Q. Kwanue, Sr. PhD

Founder & International Director GIBU Worldwide Dr. Rudolph Sr and his wife, Mother Rita live in the country of Liberia, Africa. They are Godly leaders with an unwavering loyalty to the Lord, and a passionate love for God’s Word. Dr. Kwanue is an author who has written words emphasizing the themes of hope, revival, reform, and restoration for God’s children. Dr. Kwanue is: President and pioneering Pastor at: CHURCH OF GRACE INTERNATIONAL MINISTRY The proprietor of GRACE MISSION SCHOOL Founder of CHRISTIAN LEADER’S CONNECTION C.L.C WORLDWIDE Founder and Coordinator of the GRACE INTERNATIONAL BIBLE UNIVERSITY (GIBU) – HTTPS://grace.education/ Dr. Rudolph is also the Founding member of the: MINNESOTA CHURCH MINISTRIES ASSOCIATION - Liberia chapter, and is now the General Security of the: DOVE UNITED CHRISTIANS NETWORK – Liberia. www.mcmaonline.org He is Founder and International CEO of the: INTERNATIONAL ACCREDITATION COMMISSION OF EDUCATION (IACE). Dr. Kwanue is a humanitarian. He is also the Founder of the: Pastor Rudolph Care Foundation, which is now helping the sick, blind, and the school-going kids, the poor in general.


Rev. Dr. Rudolph is a great teacher of the Word of God with deep revelation knowledge and a dynamic Minister of God, who ministers under the apostolic unction with signs and wonders following. Dr. Kwanue was ordained as a Reverend by Bishop Dr. Timothy A. Johnson – USA, Executive Director of Minnesota Church Ministry Association on May 14, 2010. He is the author of “Respecting the Body of Christ, With Power of Motivations and Encouragement to all People.” Dr. Rudolph’s Degrees are: • AA Degree in School Administration from the Licosses Mobile Teacher Training College – Liberia • Ministerial Certificate from the Liberty Christian Church Bible School – Monrovia • Bachelor of Theology Degree and a • Master of Ministry Degree from the Believer’s Bible College – Ghana • Bachelor of Christian Education and a • Master of Missions from the Word of Truth Bible Academy – Maryland, USA • A Doctorate Degree of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Bible Studies from the Believer’s Bible College – Ghana • A Diploma in Computer Desktop and Data Publishing from the Change Network 842-Computer School at Rehab Paynesville in 2007 • Dr. Rudolph has also been awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree from the Grace International College – USA as a Founding Father and International Director. Dr. Kwanue is now writing his second Doctoral Degree thesis dissertation project in Christian Leadership with Word of Truth Bible Academy – USA. Dr. Kwanue’s entire life has been upgraded by Christian values. He became a born-again Christian in 1992, and education has been his passion both secular and religious views. Rev. Dr. Rudolph Q. Kwanue was born in Liberia on December 28, 1985, to the union of Mr. & Mrs. Kwanue at Beo. Gbehnelay Nimba County, Republic of Liberia. Dr. Rudolph is a young and strong visionary leader, pastor, school proprietor, church administrator, married couple’s counselor, father of inspiration, Bible college founder, professor, and coordinator. He has traveled on many missionary trips to many African nations. He is married to his beautiful wife, Rev. Mother Rita N. Kwanue and blessed with four sons, Rudolph Jr., Abel, Bishop Timothy, a Prophet Daniel Kwanue.

Dr. Glen Hartline is a veterinarian, minister, author, radioGIBU show host, husband, and father. Healing and the prophetic are constant aspects of his life and ministry but he is more known for an intimacy with God that was developed through years of supernatural encounters that began at the age of 31 when he heard the audible voice of God calling him into ministry. He currently travels both nationally and internationally preaching and teaching schools of Intimacy, identity, and healing where he not only prays for the sick but imparts the reality of living a supernatural life through the intimate union we share with our Heavenly Father. Students: You can have all the knowledge and wisdom of God and you can walk in the fullness of the power of God, but if you don’t become love you have nothing. Ministry and life is not about gathering people to yourself or having others serve you. Ministry is about loving all, serving all, and laying down your own life so that what God has placed in those around you can be realized in their lives. Being a leader in the Kingdom of God means choosing to be a servant of all men.


Faye, a country girl born in the state of California has always gone to church and loved God. Her parents, Velma and Henry Ebeirus, were pastors and raised her to live by God’s Word. She married her husband, Dr. Bill Hanshew, on January 6, 1973. Their entire married life has been one of loving God and doing all they can for Him. Faye has her Associates of Arts, from Mineral Area College, Park Hills, MO, a Bachelor of Science in Management, and a Master’s in Business Administration, both from University of Phoenix, Phoenix, AZ. She is awaiting her Doctor of Theology from Bible Institutes of American, Raeford, North Carolina, and has an Honorary Doctorate in Church Administration from GIBU. She has pastored with her husband and has served as Children’s Pastor, Youth Pastor, and CoPastor. Her passion is to see others understand the true Word of God and understand that His love is unconditional and everlasting. He will always be there for you, and with Him, you can do ALL things!

And did you want to give a short word of encouragement to the students for this new year?

Students, Don't give up! Don't give up is one of the most used encouragement words by anyone. It's because this small sentence has a very deep meaning. You are amazing, give it your best, don't give up, you can make it, nothing is impossible to do, be determined, challenges are meant to make you strong. Step up on your challenges. It is through your challenges that you will climb to the top mountain. Without the challenges you will be nowhere, step on them they will lead you right on the top mountain. And be prepared for the testimony. Amen


Timothy A. Johnson holds a B.A. in History/Secondary Education from Trinity Int'l University; a ThB and ThM from American Bible College; the Doctor of Divinity from St.Thomas-a-Becket University of Canterbury, ordination in the Evangelical Free Church of America, and has been consecrated as Bishop of MCMA, Africa Chapter. He served on the pastoral staff at Central Free Church in Minneapolis (1980-84) and since 1984 as an Executive Director of the MCMA, and in several churches and organizations as a consultant. MCMA offers training for pastors and church leaders in the United States and also in a growing program on the continent of Africa. MCMA Africa is centered in Nigeria and reaches across from West to Central and to East African nations. He is the author of Celebrate What Is!, Christian Perspectives in the Public Square, Power Motivation for Church Leaders, and The Gospel Nudge: How A Mentoring Mindset Accomplishes the Mission of the Church. He lives in Eden Prairie, Minnesota USA with wife Mary, son Jeffrey, daughter Andrea, their spouses and children.

Dr. Bill Hanshew was born in and around the days of great Pentecostal revivals. Bill started preaching at the age of 17, was a youth pastor at the age of 18 and was a senior pastor at the age of 20. Bill has always pursued the knowledge of God by studying the Bible and other commentaries and historical data, and today experiences continuous downloads of information from the Holy Spirit, bringing biblical truth in a challenging, yet understandable way to the body of Christ. Bill received his Doctorate in Biblical Studies from “The Easter Theological Bible College” in Tulare, California in 1987 where he was handpicked and personally mentored by the president of the college, Dr. Elmer Easter. He received a Bachelor of Biblical Studies and Master of Theology from Grace International Bible University, Liberia, West Africa. Bill has also received his Doctor of Theology from Bible Institutes of America, Raeford, North Carolina.

Bill loves to preach, teach, write, and worship. Bill is an author and has also been a Certified Bible College Instructor, a Senior Pastor, and a Webinar speaker. He is the President of “World Bible School International Training Center” and founder of “Bill Hanshew Ministries” in Joplin, Missouri. Dr. Bill is also an Apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ and Bishop to many around the world. And based upon his life-long testimony and ministry experience, the Christian Leaders Connection (CLC) and in affiliation with the Church of Grace International Ministers Inc., Dr. Bill Hanshew has been chosen as an Ordained Bishop. Dr. Bill serves on the Board of Trustees for Grace International Bible University, as well as an instructor at GIBU online.

Students of GIBU; As you face yet another new school year, I want to encourage you to never forget that “revelation knowledge” is a movement which is designed to keep moving. And never get stuck in a movement, no matter how much you are enjoying it. The modern-day movement of the Azusa Street revival only lasted 9-years. Many people have made that movement their home and have camped there, thereby never moving forward in the knowledge that God has more for us. Like a cocoon that dies, but comes back to life as a beautiful butterfly, all movements die, but come back to life as a “new thing” (Isaiah 43:19) that God is doing. A movement is the “revelation knowledge” of God, which is constantly changing simply because we do not know it all; and what we do not know, continues to be revealed in those who are hungry to know more. Stay hungry, and yet filled with the goodness of God as you pursue knowledge. Hosea 6:3 says to “pursue the knowledge of the Lord,” because in His knowledge, fresh revelation continues to come. She is a Doctor of Philosophy with a PhD in Leadership for Higher education with distinction from Capella University. Her tenure in the education industry spans over 31 years and she is currently the founder of MMGW Christian Academy, an online nonprofit school for adult learners, she is also Dean of Education for another Christian University in Orlando, Florida. Dr. Whitehead was recognized as a Distinguished Professional in education and featured in the 2015/2016 edition of Women of Distinction Magazine. As a seasoned educator and administrator Dr. Whitehead believes education help build integrity, self-esteem, and leads to self-sufficiency. Her latest book ‘Education Matters’ was published in 2017 and is available from Barnes & Nobles and Amazon.com. Dr. Whitehead has an extensive background ranging from College Professor and administrator to singer/songwriter/producer, motivational speaker, radio announcer, author, cable TV host, TV actress and much more, her singing pseudonym is Maureen Gee. In 2018 she produced her latest album “Songs of Encouragement” and her latest single “Don’t Fake It” available from CdBaby.com and Amazom.com. YouTube videos of her performances also exist. Choosing to answer God’s calling on her life, she is determined to make her ministry a lifelong ambition, bringing encouragement and hope to God’s people.

Dr Martin was born in a Bury Post in Wales United Kingdom on 27th October 1955. Then moved at six weeks old as a baby in a small town in Aberdare Wales. This was the town the great Revivalist Mr Evan Roberts who said Aberdare was the Gateway to the 1904 Revival in Wales which spread worldwide, our prayer is that God will pour out of His Spirit in Revival power again in Aberdare Wales Uk. As a young man Dr Martin had his own business as a Painter Decorator, and marred his wife, Gaynor. They have two Daughters, Dawn & Clare. Dawn, the oldest daughter, has two Children, Emily & Samaul. Emily has a son called Noah, our Great Grandson. Both Dr Martin and his wife, Pastor Gaynor, planted a Church in Wales United Kingdom, 24 years ago in a village in Aberdare, 2 miles from the Town Centre. The Church name is Life in the Nations Church, Wales Uk. Since that time, they have planted nine more Churches as Life in the Nations International and 100s of Churches by other ministries over the years in different countries, worldwide. A few things about the ministry: Dr Martin founded Life in the Nations International Ministry with his wife, Pastor Gaynor Rees, with Churches planted and added to L.I.T.N Ministry in Holland, Bulgaria, India, Pakistan, Kenya, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Malawi, and Liberia. India was a Nation we visited over 10 years, building a two-floor orphanage housing 40 orphans, and building Church Buildings, doing large city crusades and Leaders conferences. We also had a Bible College there. A Bible school was started in Pakistan via Skype ministry. Dr Martin earned an Honorary Doctorate in 2007, and a Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree, and a Doctorate, with Grace International Bible University. This is a short biography of my journey and my story so far. Praying for great things for the future.


Students: Hi all, just to say that I am praying for you as students of Grace International Bible University. I’ve been asked to write a little something that God placed on my heart in regard to your future. When people graduate, they’re often told to follow their dreams. Change the world. After all, the sky’s the limit. But what if you don’t know what you want to do when you graduate, and lacking the required social positioning to achieve it? There are always limits to following self-centered dreams. But if we posture ourselves as “living sacrifices” seeking God’s dreams and God’s will, the possibilities really are endless. I would like to describe how graduating students are often told to discover their passion, and then pursue their dreams. Yet says, “Most successful people don’t look inside and then plan a life. They look outside and find a problem, which summons their life.” It’s true: As we apply our Godgiven spiritual gifts to the needs of the world, we begin to discover our vocation. Graduating from Grace International Bible University in the 21st century can be a challenge. Living in the University/College bubble, students learn of limitless possibilities. But the current labour market can feel more limiting than limitless. An outward focused posture of humble servant leadership is more commendable than a life of egotistic achievement. In fact, that even the world’s most remarkable people don’t achieve success alone. “It makes a difference where and when we grew up. “The culture we belong to and the legacies passed down by our forebears shape the patterns of our achievement in ways we cannot begin to imagine.” Serving God and others, rather than seeking money and social status, should shape the pattern of our achievement. This requires humility, a scarce commodity in a culture of self-importance. If we are humble, the Holy Spirit can direct our own desires toward God’s purposes. The Apostle Paul describes an orientation toward God’s will. ”Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God — what is good and acceptable and perfect” (Rom. 12:2). Indeed, God promises to be our guide and has supplied us with ample tools for knowing God’s will. We can pray for wisdom and strength, study Scripture, seek counsel from mentors and take note of others’ experiences. So, what if Jesus were a commencement speaker today? What life advice might he give? Perhaps it would go something like this: Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with your entire mind. And love your neighbour as yourself. Jesus taught us to live with an outward-focused spirit. A humble posture of service to God and each other runs counter to individualistic egotism and worldwide exceptionalism. Living into our calling is a journey that bends toward bringing God’s reign on Earth as it is in heaven. Praying for you all as students that Gods kingdom come and His will be do in your lives. What is ahead of you as a student is greater than anything you or anyone can possibly think. What is in front of you is nothing but God! You see, our Lord has the whole world not only in the palm of His hands, but our futures on the tip of His tongue. What happens next is God's voice, and all you have to do as a student is one thing, to remain teachable. Throughout the process of your classwork the staff and instructors here are dedicated to do one thing as well, and that is to remain reachable! As we listen to the voice of God it is our duty to not just pay attention to detail, but to be the detail to the attention paid. Our goal here is your success, but we cannot do it without listening to God's voice. We do this by studying His Voice in Print (His Word), and then applying focus to an achievable obedience. The one thing that remains ahead of you is something called purpose, and with purpose comes focus, and with focus comes the kingdom manifestation. We are dedicated to seeing true God-success in every student that seeks to study to show one's self approved, but not unto the instructor's, but unto what the Scripture declares and that is God's approval. Remember we all have one thing in common here, we are all students of the Most High God, and focused to seeing iron sharpened by iron, too. Remember too, we are also learning as we all are in pursuit of fulfilling God's will for our lives, and that is God's Kingdom Expansion Project - aka Being a Witness. Current Courses… How to interpret and explain Difficult Passages Workshop (2 units) have you ever had difficulty understanding certain passages in the Bible? Did you have to rely on commentaries and other people to figure it out? We appreciate the help others can give us, but when we can “figure it out” and “connect the dots” ourselves as students of the Bible it gives us a new confidence to be able to explain God’s word to those who ask us. As Peter instructed us, we should “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect” (1 Peter 3:15). This course will help you learn how to interpret and explain difficult passages in the Bible. Once you can do that, everything becomes easier in your quest to understand and teach the Bible. You will learn how to understand, interpret, and explain in clear and to the point the ways the passage you are studying. You will be ready to answer questions people ask you about what any passage in the Bible means. Finally, you will be able to refine your communication and teaching skills. Can’t wait to take this adventure with you! Character Development – 1 Corinthians 13 Love (2 units) God is love (1 John 4:8) and He designed us for love. All that is within us cries out for love, and yet it seems so hard to find. The problem is that we seek to be loved. We want others to accept us, meet our needs, make us feel good, forgive us, and give us freedom to be and do whatever we want. God’s love is not about getting but about giving. If we can learn to love others as God loves us, we will experience the love we so desperately desire in return. We will be healed of our deep hurts.


In giving we will receive. How? Well, that’s our subject this quarter. Character Development is a series of topics on the most important quality of a Christian – character. It’s how Jesus said to be a wise man who builds his house upon the rock (Matthew 7:24), and the very opposite of the hypocrisy Jesus condemned in the religious leaders of His day. God wants us to walk in victory and become like His Son, Jesus Christ (Romans 8:28-29). Learning all about the Lord and the Bible is great. Learning to minister in power is wonderful. But if we do not develop His character we will eventually get shot down by the world, the flesh, or the devil. God has definite steps to achieve victory in each area of our lives and the TWELVE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT courses are where you’ll learn them. The Messiah (2 units) Jesus Christ, the Messiah, the centerpiece of all history, the “desire of all nations” (Haggai 2:7), has come. And He will soon come again, and “from His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty” (Revelation 19:15). In this practical course you will learn the prophecies that He fulfilled so you can witness right out of the Old Testament. And you will learn how to know and present Him in power to the world today —the world that will soon witness His mighty return to rule and reign. An incredible course. LEADERSHIP STRATEGIES OF THE HEBREW PROPHETS (2 units) As we follow the Lord, many times we face seemingly overwhelming difficulties, obstacles and opposition. In those times, how do we overcome and advance? How do we lead people into victory and maturity? In answer to that, James wrote, “Brothers and sisters, as an example of patience in the face of suffering, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord” (James 5:10). So in this course we will study the leadership strategies of Isaiah, Ezekiel and Daniel. They faced immense opposition from Assyria, Babylon and even their own people of Israel, yet they continued to advance personally and lead others to overcome as well. LECTURES IN THEOLOGY (2 units) In this course, we will center on Foundational truths contained in both the NT and OT.


We will examine various biblical doctrines (essential and peripheral) and their supporting passages discussing their importance and application for us today, including creation, attributes of God, sin, aspects of salvation, man’s pre-saved spiritual state, Christ in the OT, Trinity, etc. In this course, we will also address popular questions such as: Is Hell eternal? Was the atonement limited or universal? Will people who never heard the gospel be saved? How could a loving God allow bad things to happen to children and godly people? H How can we trust the Bible when so many men have translated it so many times since the first century? (and many others). Further, we will deal with some of the most controversial passages in the Bible and look at some of the more “difficult sayings” made by Christ and the apostles. This interesting course will certainly edify one’s personal faith and enhance one’s knowledge of biblical doctrine. Although this course will have marginal reading requirements, grades will be based on attendance and class participation. 1 & 2 Thessalonians (2 units) What are the characteristics of a thriving church? What kind of a ministry results in a healthy church? How should we prepare for Christ’s return? Paul’s first and second letters to the Thessalonians are filled with encouragement, affection, hope, love, and tough advice. Paul understood how difficult it is to live out the Christian faith in the face of opposition and many distractions. Paul exhorts his friends as a father would his children to grow in love for one another, to live holy lives, to refute false teaching, and to stand fast in the Lord. He reminds them of their great hope in the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ and to not be falsely alarmed at rumors that the Day of the Lord had already come. Your study of these letters should give you assurance for the future, encouragement in witnessing and walking with the Lord, comfort in the loss of Christian loved ones, and stability in a world that appears to be careening out of control. EVANGELISM (2 UNITS) The word “evangelism” means taking the good news about salvation through Jesus Christ to other people. Jesus came to preach the gospel to the poor, and He is still doing that today through us, because we are His body (1 Corinthians 12:27). How do we learn to evangelize?


Mainly by doing it. This is a “field experience� course, which involves witnessing for at least one and a half hours a week, turning in weekly lists of the people witnessed to, reading a missionary book (supplied) and writing five pages of notes on it.


Grace School of Intercultural Studies Since the purpose of Grace is to facilitate the fulfillment of the Great Commission, the School of Intercultural Studies is designed to prepare people, specifically to penetrate new areas with the gospel, usually through starting new works, but also through support of the existing missions. The latest “cutting-edge” concepts are taught, and the student is introduced to the work of today’s leaders. The school offers: Master of Missions and Doctor of Ministry degrees. Jesus said, this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world for a witness to all nations, and then the end will come (Matthew 24:14).

Grace School of Theology The School of Theology provides graduate-level seminary education for those who are preparing for the professional ministry and for others who want to excel in their quest for knowledge and effectiveness in the kingdom of God.

GRACE helps in the following areas: We are modeled to help each Pastor/Minister start their own Bible School at their own Church. We will help set up a National Director in each Nation. We will help them with electronic teaching Materials and University Curriculum. We constantly guard them with the administrative decisions. We provide them with Internationally recognized and Accredited Biblical University Degrees upon completion of the prescribed courses and with the direct recommendation of their County/National Director. Grace is about equipping believers regardless of denominations.

G.I.B.U. loves to train ministers and church leaders. To partner with other ministries and individual ministers, to provide a scholarship for all students, and many opportunities to all people who may need it. G.I.B.U. recognizes and honors most Senior Ministers of the Gospel, and leaders of the community, organizations, and state, who have worked with God and His people for so many years and have made numerous important impartations into the lives of people, communities, organizations, and nations. Grace can officially honor such a leader.

Student Enrolment Status This is where the roll in a professor’s class shows the enrolment status of each student. There are categories, which include: (i) Student who study for the award of a specific degree; (ii) Non-award student unit, who do not for degree purpose but for personal interest, though they participate in classes and assessments enthusiastically; (iii) those students who attend and participate in classes but are not eligible for credit and are not required to submit any assessment items.

Mode of Course Delivery The course delivery modes of GIBU mainly involve weekly classes on campus and online delivery. We the following system of course delivery: 1. Semester Units; normal class session carried out weekly throughout the semester 2. Intensive Units: a short but intensive class session carried out within a week or two weeks. 3. Extensive Units: this is carried out over a week or weekends.


4. Directed Independent Studies: this involves a single student working under a suitably qualified member of the faculty for the duration of the semester. In this unit the student (a) signs an independent contract and is placed under a qualified lecturer who can act as a lecturer; (b) the lecturer draws the unit and hours offered for class session. (c) The contract signed by the student and the lecturer will be the basis for assessment (d) the student completes the contract will be used to guide the assessment. (e) The Registrar will facilitate online enrolment in the Directed independent studies. 5. Placements/Professional Experience; the student is placed under the supervision of an external agency. The University and a Supervisor in the field of study both conduct assessment

Learning Management System Grace International Bible University (GIBU) provides the necessary course materials, assessment submission, and many other resources for the use of students through online learning systems. Students are given access to GIBU email account, which provides email, document creation and storage, and other applications for their use during their time at the university. GIBU also give staff the necessary key information and Communication Technology (ICT) services.

Attendance and Related Unit Regulations In every teaching and learning institutions class attendance and regular participation are considered very critical for student success. In this regard full attendance and participation in all classes is vital to Grace International Bible University. Students can fail units on the basis of both attendance and participation. Enrolment in a unit ensures that the student has accepted the responsibility for attending all class sessions as required, participating fully in all class activities, and completing to an acceptable standard in class, including other assessment work and activities. It must be pointed out that any absence from class may be used as evidence in cases involving unsatisfactory academic progress and/or academic misconduct. Any specific attendance, participation, professional experience, research and related requirements for each unit are detailed in the course unit outline.

Assessment Assessment of student performance is paramount and it should be continuous or progressive in any given unit, and it must be determined at the end of each semester in which the unit is completed. The grade of that unit is based on the total marks obtained. Coursework unit are assessed on the basis of varied task presented at different times during the semester. Assignments must be assessed by professors or supervisors, and students must be given detailed feedback. Professors must make every effort to vary the nature of assessment tasks to allow for different learning styles, and to ensure a balance in the assessment between theoretical understanding and effective practice. The GIBU course unit outlines certain details, criteria and resources for each assessment task. Students are encouraged to ask lecturers any question that bothers them, and to seek for clarification or discuss difficulties in regard to any aspect of a unit, including assessment task.


Academics… The Unit of Credit All units of credit given by Grace International Bible University must be earned by enrolling in courses, attending classes, completing required work, taking examinations, and receiving grades. In rare cases, such as Evangelism and certain electives, a course may be based primarily on directed activity. However, an instructor is still in charge, written reports and attendance are required, and grades are issued. Each course represents two units of credit per quarter. Courses are designed to be similar in total work required; however, some differences are inevitable, depending upon the nature of the material covered.

Grading System Course Grades Grades are issued each quarter for each course and are recorded on the student’s transcript as well as the permanent record for the course. A report card is given to the student after the end of the quarter. Grades are issued on the following basis: Work/Grade Excellent = A Good= B Average= C Poor= D Failed= F

These are not units of credit. A = 4.0 points | A- = 3.7 points | B+ = 3.3 points | B = 3.0 points | B- = 2.7 points | C = 2.0 points | C- = 1.7 points | C+ = 2.3 points D+ = 1.3 points | D = 1.0 points | D- = 0.7 points | F = 0.0 points Examinations Examinations are kept to a minimum, so undue academic pressure does not build up on students.


However, examinations are an important part of the learning process and are, therefore, handled in a manner consistent with the Word and the way God Himself tests us. Some specific points are that: God does not test us more than we can bear. Therefore, instructors at Grace attempt to keep the number of tests to a minimum. God tests us for our good, for our growth into the image of Christ. Therefore, all testing at Grace in the form of examinations is done to increase learning, not to put pressure on students. Testing helps the learning process through: (a) The increased attentiveness of the student to material that will be on exams; (b) The process of learning the material better through studying for the examination; (c) The actual “review” of taking the test; and (d) The feedback when the test is returned, and the student “sees” how he or she did. This last part is very important, and consequently it is University policy that instructors return graded tests by the next time the class meets after an examination, except in the case of final exams, which must be returned to students or sent to the University office within one week after the end of the quarter. Missed Examinations and Homework A student who misses an examination must take the examination the next time he or she comes to class. Unless the reason for missing was an excused absence (see “Attendance” section) the grade received on the test may drop one grade if it was needlessly taken late. So be sure to talk to your instructor if you need to take a test late. It is the responsibility of the student to contact the instructor and arrange for the makeup exam. A student who fails to turn in a homework assignment, except for an excused absence (see “Attendance” section) will be dropped one grade if it was needlessly turned in late. The reason for these policies is not to help the University or the instructors, but to help the students keep from putting things off so long that they get discouraged and give up. If you find yourself behind and getting discouraged be sure to see your instructor, the Registrar, or the Dean for help and encouragement. Incompletes If a student is not able to complete the work in a course before the end of the quarter due to illness or other pressing reasons (not just putting it off), he or she may request that the instructor issue an “Incomplete” instead of a grade. The student will then be allowed extra time to complete the missing work, up to 30 days normally after the last day of class for the quarter. If the student does not complete the work in that time, the grade for the course may be based upon work which was completed, with missing grades and assignments being averaged in as “F’s,” which may result in a lower grade, or even an “F,” for the quarter. Note that it is the student’s responsibility to follow through, not the instructor’s nor the University office’s.


Report Cards Instructors must turn all grades and attendance records in to the Registrar’s office within one week after the end of each quarter. The Registrar’s office will issue grade Sheet to students who have earned grades. Repeating a Course If a student has taken a course and received a poor grade, he or she may request permission to retake the course and have the better of the two grades entered on his or her official transcript. Regular registration will be charged for each time the course is taken. Academic Probation Any student who gets six or more units with the grade “F” will be placed on “academic probation.” This simply means that during the next quarter the student will have the care and concern of the faculty and administration to help him or her do better. It is advisable to come to an instructor or the Dean before getting to this point. They will be glad to help. Adding, Changing or Dropping Classes A student may add, change, or drop courses during the first three weeks of the quarter by going to the Registrar and filling out the proper form. If a student desires to drop a course, he or she must notify the Registrar. This way, financial credit will be received according to the refund schedule in the financial section of this catalog, and the student will receive a “W” for that course (Withdrew). If a student simply stops attending class, he or she will still be carried on the roll sheet, charged accordingly, and may receive an “F” for the course. So be sure to let the Registrar know before dropping so that your grades and charges are accurate. Auditing Sometimes a student wants to take a particular course but does not want to take it for credit. This is referred to as “auditing” a course. The cost is lower and the student receives all materials, but has no requirements for homework, tests, or attendance. The “auditor” simply sits in the class and listens. Audit students do not normally receive a grade, since they are not taking the course for credit. However, some audit students would like the option of receiving credit later for a course. They need to do the following: Let the instructor know; fulfill all normal attendance, homework, and test requirements; and ask the instructor to issue them a “grade” in his or her grade book at the end of the quarter. When they later want the audit changed to credit, they must come to the Registrar and request the change. If everything is in order, they may pay the rest of their tuition and the Registrar will enter their grade and units of credit on their official transcript as a regular course. Attendance Class Attendance

Assignment Submission Professors are expected to make periodic assessment of the performance and progress of their students; record details of assessment of their students hence it is required of them to give assignments to students based on the course units. Written assignments are expected to conform to the standard set out in the curriculum and to maintain the minimum standards in the course Unit Regulations.


Extension to Submission of Assignment Much as it is the policy of GIBU for lectures to give regular assignments to students so also it requires students to complete scheduled assignment at the required dates. It is the policy of the Academic Board that 5% of the possible mark is deducted from each day the assignment is late without an approved extension of submission. The GIBU requires each student to apply for approval of extension of submission due on the basis of the following reasons. 1. Medical certification of indisposition. 2. Bereavement (supported by funeral or similar notice, 3. Official evidence of arbitration issues at court of law, immigration requirements or similar official business, which are beyond the control of the student. 4. Unforeseen circumstances of an act by nature beyond the control of the student, or network disruptions which bars online communication An extension of submission of assignments can be given to any student who provides supportive evidence by applying for an extension of date. The student must attach relevant document(s) to his application for extension of date for the submission of his assignment. No extension will be granted after the due date for submission.

Professors Feedback The Academic Board of GIBU humbly requires professors/lecturers to return as soon as possible after the submission date of the assessed work. You should include in the returned work detailed written feedback indicating, against published criteria, why you awarded the grade you did for the assessed work. Guidelines for assessment feedback can be found in the Teaching and Learning Handbook which provides among other things that (i) you make suggestions as to how the student can improve their performances on the assessed work as appropriate; (b) ensure the privacy of the student under the Privacy Act, that each student receives his/her own assignment and does not have access to the work of other student. (iii) You should also ensure you return any written work to students individually or enclose in sealed envelopes or private email or whatsapp page.

Academic Integrity Every well-defined and established institution believes in academic integrity. GIBU has firm conviction that academic integrity is the process where excellence in teaching and learning is based on clear intellectual environment, where academic integrity is highly valued and carefully upheld. The Academic Board of GIBU therefore penalizes all forms of academic dishonesty. Students are thus giving clear instructions about plagiarism and other forms of academic offences. GIBU has set up Academic Integrity Policy and Procedure Board to define what actually constitute academic dishonesty, stipulated forms of penalties and the necessary guidelines to sustain clear academic integrity of the institution.

Academic Progress We have established Academic Progress Monitoring and Policy and Procedure Board to monitor the expectation and progress of the student to maintain satisfactory academic progress through the course of study so that they could complete the curse in the minimum time. We have also outlined the necessary procedures for intervention when students are deemed to be at risk of not maintaining satisfactory academic progress. Much more, every student is encouraged to maintain satisfactory academic progress.


We deemed it an incumbent duty of the Academic Staff to monitor the progress of the student in each unit during the semester, employ pragmatic intervention strategies where possible. The Lecturer can identify and support students who are at the risk of retrogressing academically. The Lecturer has to employ teaching- learning evaluation mechanism to trace the causes of the non-performing students by seeing to it that: a. The student maintains consistent participation in class activities; b. Complete or submit assignment tasks; c. Achieve satisfactory results against published criteria for assessment tasks. It is deemed that the Head of studies cross-all checks all enrolled unit of the student progress at the end of each semester. We maintain 50% of all enrolled units as the minimum academic status of all students in every semester. Those students who fail to obtain 50%for the first time in their course units could be placed on probation. If the academic progress becomes static or lower, it is deemed unsatisfactory; the student could be summoned before the Dean of studies to give reasons why he/she should be allowed to continue in the course. It is normal that a letter of warning is giving to the student who persist in performing unsatisfactorily, and can subsequently disallowed to continue the course.

Graduation GIBU recognizes and guarantees the graduation of all students who have duly completed all requirements for the course to the satisfaction of the Academic Board, and have returned any borrowed resources, discharged all financial obligations and indebtedness to the University, which have been accordingly confirmed by the Finance Board and Administration. It must be pointed 0out that students are responsible for the necessary arrangements to bear the responsibility of his graduation, however, Heads of the university and the Registrar can provide technical advice for the graduation process.

Staff Code of Conduct The staff code of conduct is an important tool to enhance trust and decency and command respect into the teaching profession. The staff code of conduct clarifies for staff the type of conduct that is expected of them in the performance of their duties. We trust each individual staff will endeavor to recognize the importance of professional and ethical dimensions of their work, and to give proper attention to the values which should define their actions and decisions. Grace international Bible University upholds the dignity of the individuals and the University generally and therefore advises that all staff and employees are accountable for the effective education and appropriate care of the University students, to promote positive relationships with the students and colleagues, and for the efficient use of resources of the university

Discrimination and Harassment GIBU as a Christian Institution of higher learning is committed to maintaining a work and study environment which is free from any form of harassment, discrimination or bullying. It is therefore highly recommended that staff and students respect the rights of others. GIBU is committed under the principles of national and international anti-discrimination laws in order to ensure that any and all matters relating to harassment are dealt with speedily, sensitively, equitably confidentially and in accordance with due processes.
