Letter from the President Although faced with daunting challenges in 2020, Faulkner University was extremely blessed. I look around and I see Faulkner as a campus and a university where we care for one another. We finished out 2020 as one of the healthiest college campuses in America, so I am thankful for all your efforts to love one another and be respectful of the needs of your peers and of our faculty and staff and friends. We now embark on a hope-filled 2021 spring semester as our students prove their resilience in the face of this on-going pandemic. We are overjoyed to experience more events on campus this semester safely and considerately. Moving many of our athletic events to the spring semester, along with celebrating Homecoming, Marketplace Faith Friday Forums and other events, will prove to be an exciting time for our Faulkner family. In this spring 2021 edition of the Faulkner Magazine, you will find stories of our students and alumni overcoming the challenges of 2020 and finding blessing and success over the last year.

You’ll read about one of our alumni who was crowned Ms. Senior World Alabama and who is using her platform to speak about the amazing work Bucket by Bucket is doing to drill wells in Tanzania. You’ll hear a student’s perspective on how life was upended, but was able to flourish on campus during the COVID-19 pandemic along with several of our Faulkner Law graduates who are making a difference in the City of Montgomery as a part of Mayor Steven Reed’s Young Professional Council and cabinet. As we finish this semester, rather than reflect on what has been taken from us, let us be reminded of the power of community, the power of family. At Faulkner, we are a family. Being a part of a community, being a part of a family requires effort. It requires conversation. Together we will have a tremendous semester with God’s help.
