Given the current stress on natural resources, how can we design buildings that not only mitigate the nonrenewable strains buildings produce but serve as an extension of the local ecosystem? How do we develop architecture that is sustainable, impermeable, and responds to the ever-active qualities of the surrounding nature? To what extent can architecture become fully immersed within the natural landscape of its environment as an ecology of parts? I'm a 3rd-year Environmental Design student with a minor in Sustainable Architecture & Planning at the University of Texas A&M. Pushing the boundaries as to what defines sustainable architecture is a topic that I find myself having a great passion for! I aim to challenge the methods by which I answer these questions and reinvent previous notions of sustainability through my work.
